Weekly Comic Book Haul #4

Hello nerdy birdies!

At this point, I’m going to make the executive decision to move this post from Saturdays to Sundays. That probably would have made more sense from the beginning anyway – so yeah, my weekly comic book hauls will be moving from Saturday to Sunday.

With that being said, let’s get right into this week’s haul!

As always I will be starting with the individual issues I picked up.

Dark Knights of Steel #9.

Dark Knights of Steel. Issue #9. Standard Cover.

(This is the series that got me back into reading western comic books and started me on my path to being a DC fan, and I’m so happy that we’re getting closer to the climax of the story.)

The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #4

The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing. Issue #4. Standard Cover.

This issue is causing quite a stir on social media at the moment.

DC vs Vampires #8.

DC vs Vampires. Issue #8. Standard Cover.

Finally filling in the gaps of this run. There’s still a couple that I’m missing, so look out for those in future hauls.

DC vs Vampires #12.

DC vs Vampires. Issue #12. Standard Cover.

This is the last issue of this storyline. I have to fill in the gaps before I can read it, but the cover promises a satisfying finale.

That’s all for the individual issues, so we’ll move onto the graphic novels. I only picked up one this week.

Batman: White Knight by Sean Murphy with Matt Hollingsworth.

Batman: White Knight by Sean Murphy with Matt Hollingsworth. Paperback Edition.

I only just found out that this was the title that launched DC’s Black Label line – which is really awesome. The Black Label line is one-off stories featuring well knows DC characters. I’ll be reading Curse of the White Knight next.

And that is it for this week’s comic book haul. I hope you all enjoyed.

There might not be a post next week, as there aren’t any individual releases on my list for the week, and I’m not sure if I’ll get to the bookstore at all. I’m also attending an anime convention next weekend, which won’t give me any time for comic hunting – the week after that there will definitely be a haul for sure; you’ll see why when we get there!

Until next time, stay nerdy my friends.

Weekly Comic Book Haul #3

Hello Nerdy Birdies!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve, and I wish you a most satisfying 2023! I’m looking forward to having lots more nerdy adventures this year!

What about you? Do you have any New Years Resolutions?

This post is being released on a Sunday on account of yesterday being New Year’s Eve, and I didn’t have a lot of time to pre-write the post ahead of time.

With that being said, let’s get into this week’s comic book haul!

We’ll start with the individual issues that I picked up as always!

Batman: Gotham Knights: Gilded City #4.

Batman: Gotham Knights: Gilded City. Issue 4. Regular Cover.

That’s everything for the individual issues that I picked up, so next we’ll move onto the graphic novels. I only picked up a couple this week.

Injustice 2. Volume 4.

Injustice 2. Volume 4. This is the volume I’ve been waiting for – where we finally see Jason Todd without the cowl of Batman.

Injustice 2. Volume 5.

Injustice 2. Volume 5. With this volume, I complete my collection of Injustice 2.

Batman: Curse of the White Knight.

Batman: Curse of the White Knight.

This is the Barnes and Noble special edition of this graphic novel, so it came with a really cool lithograph that I am probably going to print and put up in my study.

And that’s it for my weekly comic book haul. This post will be returning to Saturday as of next weekend!

I’m hoping to post more regularly in 2023, and really get back into blogging again.

Until next time, stay nerdy my friends!

And that is everything for this week’s haul. I’m traveling for the holidays and so have been able to visit a lot of bookstores, so I was able to pick up a number of graphic novels.

Until next time, this is White Elorda signing off. Stay nerdy my friends,

Weekly Comic Book Haul #1

Hello my nerdy birdies!

It’s been almost a year now since I fell into the DC Comics rabbit hole, so I’ve decided to start a new section for the blog.

Each week (on Saturdays specifically) I will be posting the various comic book issues that I pick up/read in that week.

I’m posting this on a Tuesday, just to get it up, but this will regularly be on a Saturday.

I’ll start with the individual issues, then move on to graphic novels.

Harley Quinn: Legion of Bats #1

This is a new series for me – Harley Quinn: Legion of Bats. This follows on from the end of Season 3 of Harley Quinn: The Animated Series. I really enjoy the show, so I’m looking forward to seeing where this comic run will go.

I will admit that my favourite part of this so far is the moments where we see Nightwing/Dick Grayson.

Harley Quinn: Legion of Bats #2

The next comic I picked up this week is Harley Quinn: Legion of Bats #2. Issue 3 comes out later this month, so I was able to catch up with this one pretty quickly.

I enjoyed seeing Riddler and Clock King in this issue, as well as seeing more interaction between Harley and the Bat-Family.

The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #3.

The last of the single issues for this week is The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #3.

I started reading this storyline last month, and picked it up after seeing that Jason Todd/Red Hood is featured. I’m enjoying seeing where it goes as more of the puzzle pieces are revealed to us.

That’s it for the single issues, next on to the Graphic Novels!

Injustice: Gods Among Us. Year Four: Complete Collection.

The first of the two graphic novels I picked up this week is Injustice: Gods Among Us. Year Four: Complete Collection.

I didn’t actually think I would enjoy Injustice as much as I have, especially as I haven’t played the games, and the animated movie is meh.

Despite that, here I am on Year 4. This mostly features the Regime vs the Gods of Olympus.

Injustice: Gods Among Us. Year Five: Complete Collection.

The last comic book I picked up this week is Injustice: Gods Among Us. Year Five: Complete Collection.

This completes my collection of Injustice: Gods Among Us. Now I need to start on Injustice 2, so I would probably expect to see that in upcoming comic book hauls.

I’ve really enjoyed reading Injustice, it’s a pretty cool take on Superman going dark, and really highlights the differences between him and Batman.

I enjoy Tom Taylor’s writing, and the fact that Bruno Redondo does some of the art doesn’t hurt either.

And that is it for this week’s comic book haul. I hope you enjoyed it – let me know if there are any comic book storylines that you think I should read!

This is White Elorda, signing off, until next time nerdy birdies. Stay safe, and nerdy my friends.
