Good Afternoon Nerdy Birdies!

How are you doing today? How has your weekend been? What have you gotten up to?

My weekend has been pretty fun, I went to visit the National Aviary yesterday, so look out for a snapshot post from that coming soon! I’ve spent today just chilling out at home.

I’m ready to bring the week to a close with my weekly comic book haul though, so let’s get right into it!

As always, I will start with the individual issues that I picked up, before moving on to graphic novels/collected works.

Let’s get started, shall we?

Nightwing. Issue #103. Regular Cover.

The saga of the Grinning Man and the Demon Neron continues. I love this cover though, I just adore the idea of Bludhaven adopting Nightwing as their city mascot.

Of course, I had to pick up the Jamal Campbell cover for the month as well. This one just gives me big Superman vibes.

SuperBoy: The Man of Tomorrow. Issue #1. Regular Cover.

I’ve been looking forward to this story since I saw it was announced, so I’m really excited to follow this new adventure for Konnor. And I’m glad that he has his sunglasses and leather jacket.

Batman: Beyond the White Knight. Issue #1.

The first of two issues that I was missing from this run. I found it at a comic store a little bit further away that we don’t get to visit very often. I’m happy to have it as part of the collection now/

This is the final issue I needed to complete this run of comics, and I was glad to find it with issue #2.

And that is it for the individual comics that I scooped up this week.

Now we’ll move onto the graphic novels.

Nightwing: Rough Justice.

I’m always happy when I come across older Nightwing material at comic book stores, especially anything that was illustrated by Scott McDaniel, so if course I picked this up the moment that I saw it on the shelf. I just adore the art style from this period.

Nightwing: The New Order.

I’ve seen screenshots from this floating around but I haven’t been able to pick it up until now. I’m curious to get into it, and am grateful to have it as part of my TBR pile.

I’m starting off the week with my comic book haul of everything I picked up during the last week. This is going to be all collected works/graphic novels, as there were no new individual issues released last week that I needed or wanted to pick up – that’s sure to be different this week though.

With all that being said, let’s dive right in shall we?

Batman Beyond: Neo Year.

I’ve been really enjoying getting back into Batman Beyond after a really long time, so I’m pretty much reading anything I can get my hands on. I’m looking forward to getting into this one, and seeing more of Terry McGinnis.

I also just really love the cover for this one.

Future State: Gotham. Volume 3: Batmen at War.

This is the last graphic novel in the Future State: Gotham series. I’m excited to read the conclusion, as I’ve been enjoying this series. It’s been an interesting story for Jason Todd especially.

Robin. Volume 3: Secrets and Shadows.

This is another last volume in a series that I’ve enjoyed. This is the last of Damian’s solo journey on Lazarus Island that lead into the events of Lazarus Planet and Batman vs Robin.

I especially enjoy Damian and Conner’s (Hawke) friendship through this run.

Teen Titans. Volume 1: Full Throttle.

I’ve been wanting to read this run for a while now, and I’m excited to finally have found this.

Titans United.

I’ll be honest, I only want to read this to see Jason’s dynamic with thes rest of the Titans. I’m still looking for Titans Together, the other run where he joins up with them.

How was your week? Mine was thankfully a fairly chill one.

I’m here to finish the week off with a comic book haul! As always I will start with the individual issues and move onto collected works.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Tim Drake: Robin. Issue #7. Regular Cover.

I’m grateful for the change of art style with this issue, also for the adorable-ness going on between Tim and Bernard.

The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing. Issue #7. Regular Cover.

Things continue to get more interesting with this storyline. I’m also happy to see the continued appearance of Jason Todd/Red Hood.

The Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent. Issue #2. Regular Cover.

I’m looking forward to this run really getting going in the Injustice universe, I’m interested to see what Tom Taylor is going to be being back in that world.

And that’s it for the individual issues, next I’ll be moving onto to the one collected work/graphic novel that I picked up this week.

DC vs Vampires. Volume #2.

The second half of the main story of DC vs Vampires (does not include the All-Out War storyline.) I’m missing some of the individual issues, so I am really excited to read how this story ends!

Hello Nerdy Birdies!

How are you doing? I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My weekend was pretty hectic, we had some friends visit from out of town! So my apologies for this post going up on a Monday for the second week in a row!

With that being said, let’s get right into the haul, shall we?

Dark Knights of Steel. Issue #10. Regular Cover.

I adore this cover, as much as I am adoring this series!

Batman: Gotham Knights – Gilded City. Issue #6. Regular Cover.

This is the final issue of this prequel mini-series to the video game. It’s been a pretty cool story, though I’lol admit I think the ties to the game are minimal.

Dead Boy Detectives. Issue #4. Regular Cover.

I really like the cover art for this one; I get a real sense of dread from it.

That’s all for the individual issues, so I’ll move on to the one collected work that I picked up this week.

Task Force Z. Volume 2. Hardcover.

The second volume of Jason Todd and his undead team. I’ve been waiting for this one to come out for a while now. I love Jason Todd centric stories and this one has been very enjoyable.

First off, my apologies for the lateness of this post! I was attending a convention over the weekend, so I was unable to get this post up before now! Next week, we will return to this haul going up on a Sunday.

Next off, how was your weekend? I hope that it was enjoyable! Mine was busy, but a lot of fun! I hope that this week shapes up to be a good one for you!

With that all being said, let’s jump right into this week’s haul! I don’t have any collected works this week, so it will only be individual issues!

Harley Quinn: Legion of Bats. Issue #6. Variant Cover by Can Hopp.

This is the final issue of this mini-series! I absolutely adore this cover, especially the pigeons. I hope Harley is able to convince Ivy to let them go.

My collection of Jamal Campbell continues to grow with the addition of issue #102. I just love the acrobatic vibe of this cover.

Another variant cover for Nightwing. I really like the movement in this one, as well as Nightwing’s facial expression.

And that’s it for this week’s haul – not a huge one, but I’m really happy with what I picked up! There’s a couple of releases coming up in the next few weeks that I’m really excited about and I’m so looking forward to sharing them with you!

Good afternoon Nerdy Birdies!

How has your weekend been? Did you get everything done that you wanted, or did you just relax? I’ve spent most of this weekend cleaning and tidying up! I even sorted out my comic book collection!

Speaking of comics, it’s time for this week’s haul. I almost didn’t have one this week, as none of my current series had any new releases this week; but I picked up a couple of cool things yesterday that I wanted to share!

We’ll start with the individual issue that I picked up!

Dark Nights: Death Metal – Robin King. I think this is the regular cover for this issue.

I found this at a local discount bookstore and I had to pick it up to add to my collection. I find the Robin’s to be the most fascination past of the Metal universe, plus I just really love this cover.

And keeping with the theme of Robin, I’ll move to the collected work I picked up:

Robin: 80th Anniversary.

This is a 100-page special that was released for the 80th Anniversary of the appearance of Robin. It contains stories for Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne and Stephanie Brown.

I’ve been looking for this for a while, as this contains one of my favourite little story lines for Jason Todd, and a birthday present that he puts together for Bruce.

The only issue I have with this is that we only get one storyline for Jason, as Red Hood, where Dick and Tim both get storylines as Robin and as Nightwing/Red Robin respectively. I would have loved to see Jason get a Robin storyline as well, and maybe lose the Nightwing storyline with the Titans, but that’s just my thoughts.

Which does lead me to a question – who is your favourite Robin, if you have one? I think mine should be obvious at this point.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and that the coming week is everything you want it to be! I had a fairly good weekend, and just got home from a trip that I took!

Naturally, I’ll be finishing the week as I always do – by rounding up all of the comic books that I added to my collection since last Sunday! I have individual issues and collected editions to share with you this week.

So let’s dive right in!

As always, I’ll start with the individual issues:

Batman #357 Facsimile Edition. Metallic Variant Cover.

I had to add this one to my collection, as it features the very first introduction of Jason Todd – back when he used to be a circus performer instead of a street kid!

The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing. Issue #6. Regular Cover.

The plot continues to thicken as we spend some time with the Joker who had been living in LA.

There’s also a lovely panel of Jason in this issue where he isn’t wearing his jacket, so that was definitely a plus!

Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent. Issue #1. Variant Cover by A.L. Kaplan.

I’m really excited for this one – mainly because we’ll be heading back into the Injustice universe!

Li’l Gotham: Calendar Daze.

I’ve been looking for this for a while, I just think the art style is so cute! I only picked this up yesterday, so I haven’t had the chance to read it yet – but I am so excited!

Batman Beyond 2.0. Volume 2: Justice Lords Beyond.

Completed my collection by finding these at a comic book store that I visited over the weekend. I am especially excited about this one because it contains art by Dexter Soy, who is one of my absolute favourite artists!

Dark Nights: Death Metal. Deluxe Edition.

I really enjoyed reading through Dark Nights: Metal, so I am looking forward to seeing what the sequel has in store!

Nightwing (Rebirth) Deluxe Edition. Volume 3.

Last but certainly not least is this. I’ve been looking for this deluxe edition for months now, and I finally came across it at a comic book store yesterday, so I had to grab it!

Nightwing is one of my favourite characters in DC, and I’m really happy to have added this to my collection!

This is the final issue for this run, and I’m really excited to read how it ends!

This issue has a lot of really good Red Hood/Jason Todd content that we’ve been missing from the run so far! I put a couple of my favourite panels up on my Instagram!

The Riddler: Year One. Issue #3.

I’ve really been enjoying the glimpse into the Riddler’s character that this run has provided so far, and I’m looking forward to digging into this issue and finding out more.

Tim Drake: Robin. Issue 6. Regular Cover.

I couldn’t resist picking up this variant cover as well, I’m weak for Dan Mora drawing any of the Robins, including Stephanie.

First things first, my apologies for the delay in getting this post out! The past couple of weeks have been super hectic, so I am getting this out a day late after missing last week entirely. I am sorry about that!

Next thing is next, how was your weekend? Did you get everything done that you wanted to? I certainly hope so. I went to our local Botanical Gardens over the weekend, so expect to see some snapshots from that soon!

And without further ado, let’s get right into the haul!

As per usual, I will start with individual issues and follow up with collected works!

Batman: Beyond the White Knight. Issue #6. Regular Cover.

Ticked another issue of this series off my list over the past couple of weeks. I absolutely adore this cover as it features my two favourite comic book characters; Jason Todd (Red Hood) and Dick Grayson (Nightwing).

Batman: Beyond the White Knight. Issue #8. Regular Cover.

To follow up the previous issue, I also picked up issue 8 of this series. This is actually the last issue of this storyline. I just love the composition of this cover!

Harley Quinn: The Animated Series – The Legion of Bats. Issue #5. Regular Cover.

Another cover that features Nightwing’s butt, which amuses me to no end. I really enjoyed this issue, seeing things unravel for Harley and Ivy; and getting to see some of Dick’s insecurity that is hinted at in season 3 of the show.

(P.S. I really want to see Red Hood appear in this series! I’m continuing to keep my fingers crossed!)

Nightwing. Issue #101. Variant Cover by Jamal Campbell.

Can you believe this is the only copy of Nightwing that I picked up this month? This was the only cover that was really doing anything for me for this issue, I’m always a sucked for Jamal Campbell’s work!

That’s it for this single issues, so time to move on to the collected works.

Dark Nights Metal Omnibus by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo.

I’m so excited to have this in my collection. This collects all of the Dark Nights Metal (not Death Metal) storylines into one volume that is in order and easy to read!

Batman Beyond 2.0. Volume 1: Rewired.

I’m relatively new to Batman Beyond media, so I’ve been picking up what I can here and there. I’m looking forward to getting into this one, mostly because of older Dick Grayson, and learning more about Terry McGinnis!

I also love that the cover art is by Sean Murphy who is the main creator behind the White Knight series – some of which are mentioned above!

Batman Beyond 2.0. Volume #3: Mark of the Phantasm.

Came across this at my local comic book store and picked it up. I won’t be able to read it until I find volume 2, but I’m glad to have it in my collection regardless.

And that’s my comic book haul for the last couple of weeks! Some fun stuff that I’m really excited to read.
