Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!
I hope that this post finds you well.
How are you today? How is life? Do you have any fun plans coming up?
I’m doing well at the moment – I’m just enjoying the last of the chilly spring weather before Summer begins to make its appearance.
Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic releases that I picked up yesterday from my local comc book shop.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?
Single Issues

Absolute Superman. Issue #19. Cover A.
While Steel appeared in Issue #18, John Henry Irons makes his Absolute Universe appearance in this issue. We learn a little but more about him, and get a hint at his motivations.
King Shazam has been awakened, and it trying to come to terms with his long imprisonment, as well as seeking out those to punish for his long absence. He sees Superman as nothing more than a copy, a usurper who must be destroyed.
The Reign of the Superman will soon begin – the only question is – which Superman will come out on top? Who is destined to fulfill the prophecy spoken so long ago?

Batman. Issue #9. Cover A.
It’s the GCPD vs the Bat-Family, and one member will fall. Everyone is on deck to erase as much data and clear as many safehouses as they can, all while avoiding Gotham’s men in blue.
Can everyone get away? Who will make the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of the group?
On top of all of this, Bruce’s relationship is strained, can they come to terms to protect each other, as well as the rest of the family?

Batman/Static Beyond. Issue #6. Cover A.
In the final issue of this story – can Static and Batman get through to Melvin, aka Shutdown, and convince him to end his plan and turn the power back on.
As they try, several groups, some not of Earth, seek to claim Melvin’s powers for their own benefit – will the Justice League be able to act in time to put a stop to their plans?
I enjoyed this story – though I do wish that the Justice League stuff has been left for a follow-up or sequel. It felt a little shoehorned in, and distracted from the main plot between Terry and Virgil.

Sleepy Hollow: The Witches of the Western Woods. Issue #1. Cover A.
In this prequel to the Tim Burton film, we learn all about the backstory of Sarah Archer, the witch who made a pact with the devil and comes to control the Headless Horseman.
Compendiums

Nightwing: A Knight in Bludhaven. Compendium #3.
