Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

I hope that this post finds you well.

How are you? How did your holidays go? Do you have anything fun happening in this new year? Happy New Year by the way.

I am going alright at the moment. still recovering from the holiday season, and figuring out my goals for 2026.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic releases that I picked up yesterday from my local shop.

Remember to support your local comic book stores.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Absolute Batman: Ark-M.

Absolute Batman: Ark-M. One-Shot. Cover A.

We learn the bloody history of Arkham Asylum, and the man who founded it, in the Absolute Universe – was Amadeus Arkham doomed to unleash madness from the start?

We also learn a little bit more about the enigmatic Jack Grimm, and get a peek at who will be coming for the Batman next.

Absolute Superman #15

Absolute Superman. Issue #15. Cover A.

It’s the aftermath of the Battle of Kansas, and Kal, now living as Clark Kent on the Kent Farm, is trying to help as many people in the world as he can. Can he silence the un-ending screams?

What does the appearance of Hawkman mean for the Superman? What does Brainiac want with Lex Luthor?

Batman #5

Batman. Issue #5. Cover A.

A bounty has been placed on the good doctor’s head – so it’s up to Brucie Wayne to keep her safe. It certainly makes for an interesting date night.

It seems he might also have some explaining to do, after a slip of the tongue from his Robin.

KnightFight #3.

KnightFight. Issue #3. Cover A.

Bruce refuses to play along with the Heart’s games anymore, and will not fight his children. How will the Heart of Apokolips punish him for his insolence?

I feel like Tim really got the short end of the stick with this series, only featuring in half an issue; and poor Jason has been left all alone.

Variant Covers

Absolute Superman #15

Absolute Superman. Issue #15. Variant Cover by Carmine di Giandomenico.

New Comic Day – 5th November 2025

Good Morning my Nerdy Birdies!

How are you doing today? How has the week been treating you? I hope that this post finds you well.

I’ve been doing alright this week – just keeping myself busy.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of new comics that I picked up from my local shop.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Absolute Superman #13

Absolute Superman. Issue #13. Cover A.

The Battle for Kansas has begun, and Ra’s al Ghul is pulling out all of the stops. Can Kal stand up to this never-ending onslaught?

What will happen when the Superman loses his most valued ally?

Batman #3

Batman. Issue #3. Cover A.

The Riddler returns in the third issue of this new Batman run – his mind won’t stop racing, and it has something to do with Arkham – what will Batman find?

Also, Vandal Savage is putting his plans into place against Batman and Robin – will Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock be able to stand in his way?

Gotham Academy: First Year #2

Gotham Academy: First Year. Issue #2. Cover A.

Olive is starting to settle into life at Gotham Academy, she’s making friends and even has a boyfriend – her mother is also getting better.

What could possibly go wrong?

There’s a little cameo moment in this issue from Victor Fries that I just adore.

KnightFight #1

KnightFight. Issue #1. Cover A.

Bruce was taken out in the first round of the Apokolips tournament – but as always, he has a plan. It doesn’t seem that plan quite worked out in the way that he thought it would.

Now he’s in a Gotham he doesn’t recognised, faced with multiple Robins and a Batman who is more that familiar.

There has only been one issue of this mini-series so far, and I’m really looking forward to seeing where it is going. I really hope that the momentum keeps up.

And that is it for this week’s haul! I hope that you enjoyed it! As always, let me know your thoughts in the comments as well as any recommendations for stuff you think I should read!

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you today? How has your week been treating you? Do you have anything planned for the weekend?

I’m doing very well. I’m going to the Ren Faire this weekend, and getting to hang out with some of my dearest friends, which I am very excited about.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

The new Batman run continues by re-introducing us to Tim Drake, who is once again taking up the mantle of Robin.

There are some cute flashback moments, showing Bruce and Tim’s dynamic, as well as some brotherly rivalry between Tim and Damian.

Justice League Unlimited: The Omega Pact. Issue #1. One-Shot. Cover A.

Let’s just say that no future is looking good right now – will Booster Gold, and the Flash, be able to warn Superman and the rest of the League of what’s coming before it’s too late?

The Battle for Kansas begins. Will Kal and Sol, with the help of Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, be able to hold back the might of Ra’s al-Ghul and the Lazarus Corporation.

Single Issues

Absolute Superman #11

Absolute Superman. Issue #11. Cover A.

Brainiac’s torture and brain washing of Kal begins – can he twist him into the Son of the Demon that Ra’s wants so badly?

This is still my favourite of the Absolute universe runs, and I’ve been loving Carmine Di Giandomenico’s run as the artist.

Variant Covers

Absolute Superman #11.

Absolute Superman. Issue #11. Variant Cover by Jae Lee & June Chung.

Batman #1.

Batman. Issue #1. Foil Variant Cover by Jorge Jiminez.

It’s a whole new start for Batman, and I’m pretty excited about it. I love the new designs for Batman and Robin, and the story is off to a good start with Batman being a detective, and being willing to question his understanding of things.

I hope that this continues to be a good run, and I am looking forward to the return of Anarky.

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you today? How has your week been going? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

I apologise for missing last week’s post – I was dealing with a family situation that kept me from really having time to post, or even pick up my comics.

I’m doing OK though.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new releases that I picked up from my local comic book store.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Absolute Batman #11

Absolute Batman. Issue #11. Cover A.

We learn the story behind Bane, and how he came to be the utter monster that he is in this universe. We also get a small glimpse into Absolute Joker, and the role he is going to play in the wider story.

Will Bruce allow himself to be broken? To become something greater in the aftermath?

Batman & Robin: Year One #10

Batman & Robin: Year One. Issue #10. Cover A.

Two-Face and Clayface have teamed up and put their plan into action!

Just as Batman and Robin are starting to work together – what nefarious plan will pull them apart?

I’m definitely enjoying this run, and watching the bond build between Bruce and Dick, actually seeing some give and take from both sides.

Nightwing #129

Nightwing. Issue #129. Cover A.

The torment of Nite-wing, and the takeover of Titans Tower are finally at a close. A new hero emerges from the aftermath – will he prove to be an ally to Nightwing, or another obstacle that Dick ends up having to juggle.

This issue is full of a lot of cute moments, including some find memories between Dick and Alfred.

Titans #26

Titans. Issue #26. Cover A.

Cyborg and Beast Boy on a vacation together? What could go wrong?

Throw in a couple of missing members of the Doom Patrol and I’m sure it will be a lot.

I still think this run is speeding through storylines too quickly, but I’ll wait and see if they’re building to something in the future.

Variant Covers

Absolute Flash #6

Absolute Flash. Issue #6. Variant Cover by David Talaski.

It’s all about the Rogues in this issue, we learn how the group was brought together, and how they got their updated powers.

Detective Comics. Issue #1100. Variant Cover by Bruno Redondo.

This landmark issues features a collection of short stories of the Dark Knight at his very best. Ace the Bat-Hound even makes an adorable appearance.

With all of the dark Batman stories going around, it’s lovely to see some of the positive sides to Bruce, and the things that really make him a hero.

Nightwing #129

Nightwing. Issue #129. Variant Cover by Jorge Fornes.

Couldn’t resist this variant cover, I just love the graffiti style are and the sign to Bludhaven.

This collects together Batman & Robin Issues 14-19. The beginning of the Memento case, leading up to Damian’s shocking decision about this future.
