Absolute Flash. Issue #3. Cover A.

Has Wally finally found an ally in this mad new world of his?

Grodd’s design is adorable, and a little unsettling all at the same time.

Batman & Robin: Year One. Issue #7. Cover A.

Batman and Robin are starting to figure out their dynamic. Two-Face attempts to recruit Clayface. Someone is following Bruce – will they discover his secret?

Detective Comics. Issue #1097. Cover A.

Now that Asema is behind bars, Batman moves on to the next part of the mystery – the organisation behind her. Is Harvey Bullock the only one who can help?

It’s really cool to start seeing detective work become part of the story again.

Nightwing. Issue #126. Cover A.

The secret of Captain Hallow is revealed, and the Commissioner realises that there is no-one she can trust.

Will she be able to put her trust in Nightwing? And have they stopped Captain Hallow for good?

Titans. Issue #23. Cover A.

The Titans are trying to adjust to their newest member. Is Vanadia all that appears, or could something more sinister be lurking within her circuits?

Compendiums

Nightwing: A Knight in Bludhaven. Compendium #2.

Nightwing’s new life in Bludhaven continues as Dick Grayson decides to become a member of the Bludhaven Police Force. Will he be able to change things from the inside?

I love having these stories in Compendium format – it makes them much easier to binge read.

Single Issues

Batman. Issue #159. Cover A.

The Hush Sequel continues and Red Hood makes his appearance! Is Jason working with Bruce’s former best friend – and what will he do to the Joker?

I guess we’ll find out as the story continues.

As a side note – this is more Jason Todd character whiplash – I might make a separate post going over my thoughts on it – so stay tuned!

Justice League Unlimited. Issue #6. Cover A.

We are Yesterday continues as Gorilla Grodd explains his plans, as well as the founding of Inferno – using a group of supervillains from the past. He has Martian Manhunter’s powers – will the League be able to stop them?

Manga

Batman: Justice Buster. Volume #4.

The final volume in this manga mini-series. Batman and Robin finally become a dynamic duo as Bruce faces Joe Chill.

I’ve really enjoyed this series, and definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to read a Batman story in a different format. We’ll see if it gets a sequel.

Omnibus

Nightwing: Rebirth Omnibus.

Collects Nightwing: Rebirth #1 and Nightwing #1-43.

Variant Covers

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of all the new releases I picked up at my local comic shop.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Single Issues

Detective Comics. Issue #1096. Cover A.

Asema’s reign of terror over Gotham’s troubled youth comes to an end, and their identity is revealed.

I really liked Bruce’s arc in this storyline, even if his romantic interest is a controversial choice. I also appreciate the appearance of the whole Bat-Family in this issue.

Absolute Flash. Issue #2. Cover A.

We see more of Wally coming to understand his powers as the Rogues attempt to capture him.

The art style in this comic is amazing, and the colour work compliments it beautifully.

Nightwing. Issue #125. Cover A.

A new threat is stalking the Bludhaven Police Force, punishing those who violate “the law.”

I think this is a weird swerve away from the story that was already being established, but we’ll see where it goes.

Titans. Issue #22. Cover A.

Deathstroke is back, and he has put together a whole new death squad. He doesn’t seem to be the one calling the shots this time – how long will Slade co-operate?

How will the Titans handle the return of one of their deadliest enemies?

I feel like we’re moving through stories too fast in this series. I know theres an overarching plot in the background, but it still feels rushed to me.

Absolute Batman. Issue #7. Cover A.

The introductory story is over, and we’re starting something new. Gotham City is changing, and not in the way Bruce had hoped. The death of a childhood friend sends Bruce, and the Batman, down a chilling road.

What will Batman find in the Ice?

Batman & Robin. Issue #20. Cover A.

Memento has taken Robin, and Batman is still fighting off the effects of the Gravedigger’s Poppy. He’s called on the Bat-Family to find Damian, but maybe Bruce will have to believe in his son’s abilities as a detective to give him the break in the case that he needs.

Will he get to his son in time?

DC vs Vampires: World War V. Issue #8. Cover A.

I’m doing pretty well. I enjoyed a chill convention with friends last weekend, and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home.

Batman. Issue #158. Cover A.

The long-awaited sequel to the Hush storyline is finally here.

What could Bruce’s former best friend have in store for Batman now that he has returned to Gotham? Whatever it is, it starts with the Joker.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how this storyline plays out, as Hush is one of my favourite Batman stories.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #6

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #6. Cover A.

We’re now more than halfway through this story, and it feels like we’re no closer to answers. Another holiday is approaching, who will be the target this time? Will Batman, along with Robin, be able to figure out who is behind these crimes – before it’s too late?

Graphic Novels

Nightwing. Volume 7: Fallen Grayson.

The end of the Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo run of Nightwing is here in graphic novel form.

Nightwing finally faces off against Heartless – who will win the Battle for Bludhaven’s heart, and will Nightwing overcome his fear of the plunge?

New Comic Day – 5th February 2025

Hello Nerdy Birdies!

How are you doing today? How has your week been going? Do you have anything fun coming up this weekend?

I’m doing pretty well, at least as well as I can be. I am looking forward to visiting an Aquarium this weekend, and I have an anime convention coming up.

Today’s post is my weekly roundup of the new releases I picked up from my local comic book shop.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Absolute Superman. Issue #4. Cover A.

Lois Lane is on the search for Superman, being fascinated by him, and the stories from the people he has saved.

We also see more of the Brainiac System, and we start to get a feeling for the scope of Kal’s activities, and the people he has helped.

I am really enjoying this series, probably the most out of all of the Absolute series so far.

Absolute Superman. Issue #4. Variant Cover by David Talaski.

I adore this cover – it is just so cool to look at.

Batman. Issue #157. Cover A.

Batman faces off against “Commander Star” as the Dying City arc comes to an end.

I have really enjoyed seeing Riddler being used as a proper villain again, though he did end up getting overshadowed a bit towards the end.

Next will be the Hush sequel, which I am really excited for!

Absolute Power Graphic Novel.

I am looking forward to reading through this storyline again all in one go.

Absolute Power: Task Force VII Graphic Novel.

How has your new year been going?

I’m doing pretty well – getting ready to go on vacation, which is exciting.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of new comic releases that I picked up from my local comic book store.

Let’s dive right in shall we?

Absolute Batman. Issue #4. Cover A.

I’ve really been enjoying this title so far., We’re almost done with the first storyline and it hasn’t disappointed.

I’m just looking forward to see where they go with this take on all of the Batman characters – especially Bruce and Selina.

Batman & Robin. Issue #17. Cover A.

The Memento Case continues as Damian continues to question his role as Robin, and whether or not he and Batman are really doing any good for the city of Gotham.

This is an interesting look into the dynamic between Batman and Robin, as well as Bruce and Damian as Father and Son. It’s also really cool to see Damian starting to question what he really wants from his life, and not just what is expected from him.

Also Red Hood is here.

DC vs Vampires: World War V. Issue #6. Cover A.

We’re at the halfway through at this point. Can Mister Miracle live up to his name?

W. Elorda’s Nerdy Fashion – Batman Beyond Hooded Sweatshirt from BoxLunch

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you? How has everything been going? It’s been a while since I have spoken to you. My comic book store has been having some troubles with their distributor, so I haven’t been able to post my weekly roundups – but I hope to get back to them in the new year.

To get myself back into the swing of blogging before 2025, I am sharing this post today, to share something cool I came across recently; as you can guess from the title, I found a Batman Beyond hooded sweatshirt at BoxLunch.

This post is not sponsored at all, I am just super hype to have found this. Pics are below.

Here is the front of the hoodie. As a huge fan of this cartoon, I love all of the details on here. On the front is Batman himself, the logo from the cartoon, as well as the Jokerz Gang, and a “Ha Ha Ha” graphic. “Gotham City” is written on the left sleeve (right in the photo).

Here is the back view. It features Batman sat inside of the Batmobile, Inque and the target screen from the Batmobile are on the back body. In the background is some details on Neo-Gotham. Spellbinder is on the left sleeve.

There are even more details that I was not able to get good photographs of. The material is a typical sweatshirt cotton with a fleecy feeling on the inside. The designs are screen printed, so this won’t be going through the tumble-dryer.

I’ve worn this a couple of times now and it is very warm and comfy. I do think that the material is going to pill under the arms, but that isn’t a big deal to me.

I definitely recommend this to any fans of Batman Beyond out there, it’s very cool.

My week is going pretty well, and I am doing OK. I’m looking forward to going on a little adventure with my partner on Saturday, and seeing my family today.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of the new DC Comics releases that I picked up from my local comic book store last night.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Batmam: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #3.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #3. Variant Cover by Arthur Adams & Peter Steigerwald.

The hunt for the Dents continues as well as the search for Jim Gordon’s kidnapped son. The new Holiday killers attempt to claim another victim – the Riddler! What could Batman and Robin learn from Edward Nygma?

Batman: Detective Comics. Issue #1091. Cover A.

Young criminals are being killed in Gotham City – and it’s up to Batman to put a stop to it. All while Bruce Wayne decides whether to accept an offer that could make him younger – will he take it?

Justice League Unlimited. Issue #1. Cover A.

The Justice League is back and better than ever! With so many heroes all working together, the world couldn’t be a safer place, right? Is someone within their ranks already planning to betray tham?

I also really enjoyed seeing the Prelude for Hush 2 that was in the back of this issue. I really hope to see Hush go up against the entire Bat-Family.

Nightwing. Issue #120. Cover A.

Things are heating up in Bludhaven! Can Dick Grayson stop the new threat to his city while also preventing a new gang war? Who is mysterious ringmaster working things behind the scenes?

Dexter Soy’s artwork continues to be amazing in this latest issue – I can only hope for a team up with Red Hood soon!
