How are you doing? Has your week been going well? Do you have anything planned for the weekend?

I’m doing well – I was away from home for a while, so I am getting settled back in.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic releases that I picked up yesterday from my local comic shop.

Single Issues

Absolute Superman. Issue #18. Cover A.

Black Adam makes his Absolute Universe debut.

Born into slavery – he makes his way into the desert as a child to demand the power to change the world. What will he find?

Meanwhile, back in the present, Kal finds himself stuck between Lois Lane and Talia al-Ghul; while outside a mystery figure known only as “Steel” takes out the Peacemakers with a giant hammer.

Amidst the chaos. King Shazam has risen – will be take his place as the Superman destined to be the Saviour of the World?

Batman. Issue #8. Cover A.

Batman has an interesting conversation with Alan Scott – the original Green Lantern, as Pamela Isley takes over as the mayor of Gotham City.

Batman/Static Beyond. Issue #5. Cover A.

After a tense scuffle with Cadmus in Dakota, Batman and Static find themselves in the Narrows of Neo-Gotham, where they discover that someone has been kidnapping the Splicers who call the area home.

We also get more of a glimpse into Blackout’s backstory, and the reason for his rage against the machine. Will he cross the line, and turn himself into a monster?

How are you today? Do you have any fun plans coming up? How is the weather where you are?

I’m just enjoying the rain at the moment!

Today’s post is my weekly roundup of new comic releases that I picked up yesterday from my local comic book shop.

Single Issues

Absolute Flash. Issue #12. Cover A.

Wally has stopped running away from his fears, instead choosing to face them head on.

Two will be reunited with their captive fathers, but only one will get to keep them.

Will Fort Fox survive? What will be lost in this Clash of the Flashes? Where will everyone be left when the dust settles?

Absolute Superman. Issue #17. Cover A.

Grotesque parasites have taken over Metropolis! Every person trapped inside seemingly faces an eternal nightmare – trapped in fear in order to feed the creature.

Can Superman give the people of the city the hope, and courage, they need to overcome? Is he beginning to embrace the name that the world has chosen for him?

Was this all just a distraction from other forces at work?

What does Brainiac want with Lex Luthor?

Batman. Issue #7. Cover A.

The Joker is back, and he wants to speak with the Batman.

What is the Crown Prince of Crime planning? Does he just want to talk? What will Batman do with the information, the warning, that he has been given?

Batman/Static Beyond. Issue #4. Cover A.

Shutdown has attacked the heroes of Dakota.

His motives become clearer as he seeks to take out Static Shock permanently. Is all of this the tantrum of a neglected child?

Meanwhile, Terry is left to deal with the ramifications of a global blackout on Neo-Gotham. He gets help from the shadows.

Just as it seems the group is coming up with a plan, Cadmus shows up to arrest Static!

DC KO. Issue #5. Cover A.

Thius is it. The Omega Tournament is over, and the victor is… Lex Luthor!?

Maybe, but then again, maybe not. A sacrifice by an old enemy brings Superman back into the game at a crucial moment. Can he defeat Darkseid?

Will the universe be reborn in Superman’s image?

This ending didn’t really surprise me if I’m honest, but I look forward to seeing how it affects the DC Multiverse going forward.

The Nice House by the Sea. Issue #8. Cover A.

Graphic Novels

Nightwing: Leaping into the Light. DC Compact Edition.

Another addition to my DC Compact library. I’m really excited to have this in a format that I can easily carry with me on the go.

I hope that more of this series gets the Compact edition treatment.

I am going alright at the moment. still recovering from the holiday season, and figuring out my goals for 2026.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic releases that I picked up yesterday from my local shop.

Single Issues

Absolute Batman: Ark-M. One-Shot. Cover A.

We learn the bloody history of Arkham Asylum, and the man who founded it, in the Absolute Universe – was Amadeus Arkham doomed to unleash madness from the start?

We also learn a little bit more about the enigmatic Jack Grimm, and get a peek at who will be coming for the Batman next.

Absolute Superman. Issue #15. Cover A.

It’s the aftermath of the Battle of Kansas, and Kal, now living as Clark Kent on the Kent Farm, is trying to help as many people in the world as he can. Can he silence the un-ending screams?

What does the appearance of Hawkman mean for the Superman? What does Brainiac want with Lex Luthor?

Batman. Issue #5. Cover A.

A bounty has been placed on the good doctor’s head – so it’s up to Brucie Wayne to keep her safe. It certainly makes for an interesting date night.

It seems he might also have some explaining to do, after a slip of the tongue from his Robin.

KnightFight. Issue #3. Cover A.

Bruce refuses to play along with the Heart’s games anymore, and will not fight his children. How will the Heart of Apokolips punish him for his insolence?

I feel like Tim really got the short end of the stick with this series, only featuring in half an issue; and poor Jason has been left all alone.

New Comic Day – 3rd December 2025

How are you? How has your week been treating you so far? Anything fun planned for the weekend? Do you feel prepared for the upcoming holidays?

I’m doing quite well – I had a really relaxing holiday weekend with my family. I also got some snow, which really puts me in the winter mood.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop.

Single Issues

Batman. Issue #4. Cover A.

The Minotaur has entered the ring – will he turn all of Gotham City into his own private labyrinth? Or will Batman be able to stop him?

Knight Fight. Issue #2. Cover A.

Knight Fight continues. Bruce wraps up his fight with Dick Grayson and his army of Robins, before finding himself in another strange version of Gotham.

This time the Batman he faces is Jason Todd – who believes that he is Clayface!

Will Bruce be able to convince his second Robin that he really is who he says that he is?

As a little side note – thank you to Dan Mora for not making older Jason ugly.

Gotham Academy: First Year. Issue #3. Cover A.

Things seem to be going well for Olive Silverlock now that she has settled into life at Gotham Academy – she even has one of the leading parts in the school production.

She’s still having to deal with bullies – though she also has someone watching over her to keep her out of danger.

Will things keep going well – or will something come along to throw a spanner into the works?

Love this cover – just the absolute size of Jason compared to Bruce.

I’m doing OK today – keeping myself busy, looking forward to the upcoming holidays.

Today’s post is my weekly roundup of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop.

Single Issues

Absolute Flash. Issue #9. Cover A.

Wally joins up with the rogues, all for his father’s sake, but is there a traitor among them? The details of Thawne’s plan start to come together.

Nightwing. Issue #132. Cover A.

The Zanni, Olivia, and the Cirque du Sin put their plan into action – what will the spotlight do to Nightwing? Will he be able to save the children who continue to go missing around Bludhaven?

While I am enjoying this stoeyline, I feel like we’re recycling the same plot point from the arc with Heartless, except with Nightwing instead of Dick directly.

Titans. Issue #29. Cover A.

The evacuation of Earth continues in another DC KO tie-in. Each Titan will face different challenges, enemies from the past, and who knows what else.

I like how this issue leads into Cyborg’s arc in DC KO.

Variant Covers

Nightwing. Issue #132. Variant cover by Elizabeth Torqu & Sabine Rich.

Batman/Deadpool. One-shot. Variant cover by Bruno Redondo.

I really enjoyed this crossover. I won’t say too much about it here – I’m just glad that I was able to get this cover.

We learn more about the backstory of Barry Allen, and his work at Fort Fox. What does the mysterious Dr Thawne want with the power of the ‘red energy’?

Nightwing. Issue #131. Cover A.

It feels as though we’re finally moving into the main arc of the story, with the Cirque beginning to take centre stage. Children in Bludhaven are going missing – will Nightwing and the police department be able to work together to find them?

How will Nightwing deal with being a mentor to a young hero?

Titans. Issue #28. Cover A.

In this tie-in with DK KO, the evacuation of Earth has begun, as the heroes who stayed behind, namely the Titans, try to get every human being off the planet before the arrival of Darkseid.

I’m doing relatively OK. I’m a little bit off thanks to the change in the seasons, but I am sure that once the weather evens out, I will feel much better.

Today’s post is my weekly roundup of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop yesterday.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Absolute Batman. Issue #13. Cover A.

Absolute Catwoman has arrived, and she is just as fearsome as her Batman counterpart.

I really like the way that the relationship between Bruce and Selina has been established in this universe.

Finally, it seems as though Bruce is ready to take on Bane. How will Harley Quinn factor in to things going forward?

Batman & Robin. Issue #26. Cover A.

The true target of the Quiet Man’s killings has been revealed. Will he go through Batman, Robin, Penguin, and Two-Face all to get to his man?

I do like that we have been exploring new villains in this run, instead of just defaulting to the same things again and again.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice #4.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice. Issue #4. Cover A.

The League for Justice comes together to face off with General Zod.

What is Lex Luthor planning, and how does it involve Adam Strange?

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #9.

DC KO. Issue #1. Variant Cover by Dan Mora.

DC KO kicks off with a bang.

Earth’s heroes have only 7 days to put together the plan that will stop Darkseid’s return and subsequent path of destruction.

I’ll probably talk about this a little bit in a separate post, but I feel like we’re re-using a plot point way too soon after a previous storyline – other than that, I am looking forward to seeing how the writers handle making all of these heroes fight each other.

I’m also really looking forward to the crossover with the Absolute universe.

Single Issues

Absolute Superman. Issue #11. Cover A.

Brainiac’s torture and brain washing of Kal begins – can he twist him into the Son of the Demon that Ra’s wants so badly?

Or will the Superman overcome?

This is still my favourite of the Absolute universe runs, and I’ve been loving Carmine Di Giandomenico’s run as the artist.

Variant Covers

Absolute Superman. Issue #11. Variant Cover by Jae Lee & June Chung.

Batman. Issue #1. Foil Variant Cover by Jorge Jiminez.

It’s a whole new start for Batman, and I’m pretty excited about it. I love the new designs for Batman and Robin, and the story is off to a good start with Batman being a detective, and being willing to question his understanding of things.

I hope that this continues to be a good run, and I am looking forward to the return of Anarky.
