Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

I hope that this post finds you well.

How are you? How did your holidays go? Do you have anything fun happening in this new year? Happy New Year by the way.

I am going alright at the moment. still recovering from the holiday season, and figuring out my goals for 2026.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic releases that I picked up yesterday from my local shop.

Single Issues

Absolute Batman: Ark-M. One-Shot. Cover A.

We learn the bloody history of Arkham Asylum, and the man who founded it, in the Absolute Universe – was Amadeus Arkham doomed to unleash madness from the start?

We also learn a little bit more about the enigmatic Jack Grimm, and get a peek at who will be coming for the Batman next.

Absolute Superman. Issue #15. Cover A.

It’s the aftermath of the Battle of Kansas, and Kal, now living as Clark Kent on the Kent Farm, is trying to help as many people in the world as he can. Can he silence the un-ending screams?

What does the appearance of Hawkman mean for the Superman? What does Brainiac want with Lex Luthor?

Batman. Issue #5. Cover A.

A bounty has been placed on the good doctor’s head – so it’s up to Brucie Wayne to keep her safe. It certainly makes for an interesting date night.

It seems he might also have some explaining to do, after a slip of the tongue from his Robin.

KnightFight. Issue #3. Cover A.

Bruce refuses to play along with the Heart’s games anymore, and will not fight his children. How will the Heart of Apokolips punish him for his insolence?

I feel like Tim really got the short end of the stick with this series, only featuring in half an issue; and poor Jason has been left all alone.

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

Happy Thanksgiving, if you celebrate it!

How are you today? How has your week been going? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

My week is going pretty well, and I am doing OK. I’m looking forward to going on a little adventure with my partner on Saturday, and seeing my family today.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of the new DC Comics releases that I picked up from my local comic book store last night.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Batmam: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #3.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #3. Variant Cover by Arthur Adams & Peter Steigerwald.

The hunt for the Dents continues as well as the search for Jim Gordon’s kidnapped son. The new Holiday killers attempt to claim another victim – the Riddler! What could Batman and Robin learn from Edward Nygma?

Batman: Detective Comics. Issue #1091. Cover A.

Young criminals are being killed in Gotham City – and it’s up to Batman to put a stop to it. All while Bruce Wayne decides whether to accept an offer that could make him younger – will he take it?

Justice League Unlimited. Issue #1. Cover A.

The Justice League is back and better than ever! With so many heroes all working together, the world couldn’t be a safer place, right? Is someone within their ranks already planning to betray tham?

I also really enjoyed seeing the Prelude for Hush 2 that was in the back of this issue. I really hope to see Hush go up against the entire Bat-Family.

Nightwing. Issue #120. Cover A.

Things are heating up in Bludhaven! Can Dick Grayson stop the new threat to his city while also preventing a new gang war? Who is mysterious ringmaster working things behind the scenes?

Dexter Soy’s artwork continues to be amazing in this latest issue – I can only hope for a team up with Red Hood soon!

New Comic Day: 2nd October 2024

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you today? How has your week been going? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? Are you just going to chill?

My week has been going pretty well. I am happy for the change in weather – it’s finally cool enough for me to break out my sweaters!

Today’s post is my weekly round up of new releases that I picked up yesterday from my local comic book store. I also picked up a new figure, so expect a post about that soon!

Absolute Power. Issue #4 (Final). Cover A.

The final battle with Amanda Waller and her Amazo Army has arrived! Will the heroes be able to put a stop to her plan, and restore everyone’s powers?

I guess we’ll find out in the finale this blockbuster event!

Batman. Issue #153. Cover A.

There’s a new hero in Gotham? The Riddler is a changed man, and also a crypto-bro? So much is happening in Gotham, maybe somethings that Bruce Wayne and Batman can’t see.

It seems as though an old enemy is lurking in the shadows and waiting to strike.

Batman. Issue #153. Trick or Treat Variant Cover by Kelley Jones & Jose Villarrubia.

I love the Trick or Treat variant covers, so I added this one to my collection.

My Adventures with Superman. Issue #5. Cover A.

The Nice House by the Sea. Issue #3. Cover A.

I Know What You Did Last Crisis (Oneshot).

I adore these seasonal specials. What kind of spooky adventures will our heroes get themselves tied up in?

I especially love this cover, and the way it repeats.

DC: All-In Special.

American Vampire: Book One. DC Compact Classics.

This is a new series for me, that came highly recommended by one of the guys who works at my local comic book store.

It was just released in this DC Compact Classics format and I am excited to get into it.
