How are you today? How has the week been treating you so far? Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

I’ve really been enjoying the rain I’ve been having for the past few days. We’ve really been needing it. I am also looking forward to attending a concert this weekend. It’s going to be a ton of fun.

Today’s post is my weekly roundup of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop yesterday.

The war has finally come to an end – who will emerge victorious?

Where will the story take us next?

Immortal Legend Batman. Issue #2. Cover A.

We start to learn more about Bruce’s history as he takes on the Bane of Man.

Justice League Unlimited. Issue #11. Cover A.

As we head towards DC KO, the Watchtower is full of Parademons, and the Time Ripper is able to deliver his message. What could it mean for the Justice League – and the rest of the world at the same time.

Detective Comics. Issue #1101. Variant Cover by Frank Cho & Sabine Rich.

A new virus is on it’s way to Gotham – and Batman is infected.

New History of the DC Universe. Issue #3. Variant Cover by Chris Samnee & Giovanna Niro.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of new releases that I picked up from my local comic book store. This week’s haul is a little bit more robust than last week’s.

Let’s dive right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Batman & Robin. Issue #22. Cover A.

Memento has Robin held captive; so Batman will have to turn to the world of magic and the eldritch to find his son.

It’s so good to hear Etrigan’s rhyming verse again, though I am a little confused by Jason Blood’s design.

DC vs Vampires: World War V. Issue #10. Cover A.

Robin & Batman: Jason Todd. Issue #1. Cover A.

A new story and sequel to Robin & Batman. So far I’m disappointed that this is just another “dangerous, reackless & angry Robin” story for Jason. I’m genuinely tired of that narrative for him, especially when he wasn’t like that as Robin.

It’s only a 3 part series though, so maybe something different will happen. We can only hope right?

Variant Covers

Absolute Batman. Issue #9. Variant Cover by Tirso.

Absolute Bane is here and he is a monster. I am relieved that is intelligent though, Bane stories are always so much better when he’s more than just a brute.

I’m curious to see how Venom works in the Absolute Universe, and how Bruce will handle this new foe.

Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman. Issue #1. Variant Cover by Dan Mora.

Absolute Batman. Issue #7. Cover A.

The introductory story is over, and we’re starting something new. Gotham City is changing, and not in the way Bruce had hoped. The death of a childhood friend sends Bruce, and the Batman, down a chilling road.

What will Batman find in the Ice?

Batman & Robin. Issue #20. Cover A.

Memento has taken Robin, and Batman is still fighting off the effects of the Gravedigger’s Poppy. He’s called on the Bat-Family to find Damian, but maybe Bruce will have to believe in his son’s abilities as a detective to give him the break in the case that he needs.

Will he get to his son in time?

New Comic Day – 8th January 2025

How has your new year been going?

I’m doing pretty well – getting ready to go on vacation, which is exciting.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of new comic releases that I picked up from my local comic book store.

Let’s dive right in shall we?

Absolute Batman. Issue #4. Cover A.

I’ve really been enjoying this title so far., We’re almost done with the first storyline and it hasn’t disappointed.

I’m just looking forward to see where they go with this take on all of the Batman characters – especially Bruce and Selina.

Batman & Robin. Issue #17. Cover A.

The Memento Case continues as Damian continues to question his role as Robin, and whether or not he and Batman are really doing any good for the city of Gotham.

This is an interesting look into the dynamic between Batman and Robin, as well as Bruce and Damian as Father and Son. It’s also really cool to see Damian starting to question what he really wants from his life, and not just what is expected from him.

DC vs Vampires: World War V. Issue #6. Cover A.

We’re at the halfway through at this point. Can Mister Miracle live up to his name?

My week has been going pretty OK so far, lots of stuff to keep me busy. I’m not sure what my plans are for the weekend yet, though I do want to catch up with some of the comics that I want to read.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of the new comic releases I picked up from my local comic store.

Batman Uncovered (One-Shot). Cover A.

A collection of some of the fun covers that the Batman comic has had recently. I really like collecting these issues when they come out, and they are great art inspiration.

Absolute Batman. Issue #2. Cover A.

Absolute Batman. Issue #1. Cover A. Noir Edition.

I love collecting the noir edition for comics, and the black and white style works really well for Absolute Batman. The contrast suits the art style wonderfully.

Batman & Robin. Issue #15. Cover A.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – The Kryptonian Age #6

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – The Kryptonian Age. Issue #6. Cover A.

This is the final issue for this run, and while I didn’t care for it as much as the original Gotham by Gaslight, I do like the introduction of Superman. This issue also teases this universe’s version of the Justice League.

I’ve been having a good week so far. I’ve been playing the Silent Hill 2 remake and I’ve really been enjoying it! Are you playing it, or are you not a fan of survival horror?

Absolute Batman. Issue #1. Cover A.

The Absolute Universe is here! This is not the Batman, or the Bruce Wayne, that you’ve come to know.

I’m a fan of Scott Snyder’s writing for the most part, so I am excited to see where this is going to go.

Batman & Robin. Issue #14. Cover A.

There’s a new group in town that Batman & Robin have to deal with, connected to Poison Ivy. As well as that, is there something from Bruce’s past coming to haunt father and son? Does it have something to do with Bruce’s father, Thomas?

DC vs Vampires: World War V. Issue #3. Cover A.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – The Kryptonian Age #5.

I haven’t read this issue yet, but I absolutely adore this cover. Just look at Clark’s dorky smile, and the western style costume just looks so good on him.

Batman: The Cult. Deluxe Edition.

I’ve been waiting for this to come out so I could finally read it.

Batman takes on Deacon Blackfire, will he be turned by the Shaman’s righteous ways?

This is probably one of my favourite self-contained stories with Jason Todd as Robin.

Absolute Power: Task Force VII. Issue #4. Cover A.

It’s Failsafe vs Nightwing as our heroes struggle to figure out how to defeat Amanda Waller and her group of superpower stealing robots!

I really love seeing Nightwing come into his own in this series.

Batman & Robin. Issue #12. Cover A.

Now that they’ve found Bane on Dinosaur Island, will Damian take his revenge?

Also, Bane has a daughter?

Death in the Family: Robin Lives. Issue #2. Variant Cover by Dan Mora.

Jason continues to struggle to come to terms with his trauma, and Bruce isn’t exactly helping. Will Dick Grayson be able to step in and be the support that both Batman and Robin really need.

I couldn’t resist this variant cover from Dan Mora. I’m getting quite a collection of them.

DC vs Vampires: World War V. Issue #1. Cover A.

The massively popular DC vs Vampires returns! Barbara Gordon is now Queen of the Vampires, what are her plans for what remains of humanity?

Damian is building a vampire army, and Green Arrow is desperately trying to protect the humans that are left.

I’m really excited to see where this series will go!

Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age #3.

Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age. Issue #3. Variant Cover by Felipe Massafera.

I still need to read Issue #2, which I also picked up yesterday, so I am a little behind on this series.

I love this variant cover though, it has a really cool old-school treasure hunter vibe.

Gotham City Sirens. Issue #2. Cover A.

The Sirens are back together, and it is up to them to put an end to Punchline’s game!
