New Comic Day – 16th April 2025

Posted on April 17, 2025 by White Elorda

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you today? How have things been going? Have you gotten upto anything fun lately?

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of all the new releases I picked up at my local comic shop.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Single Issues

Detective Comics. Issue #1096. Cover A.

Asema’s reign of terror over Gotham’s troubled youth comes to an end, and their identity is revealed.

I really liked Bruce’s arc in this storyline, even if his romantic interest is a controversial choice. I also appreciate the appearance of the whole Bat-Family in this issue.

Absolute Flash. Issue #2. Cover A.

We see more of Wally coming to understand his powers as the Rogues attempt to capture him.

The art style in this comic is amazing, and the colour work compliments it beautifully.

Nightwing. Issue #125. Cover A.

A new threat is stalking the Bludhaven Police Force, punishing those who violate “the law.”

I think this is a weird swerve away from the story that was already being established, but we’ll see where it goes.

Titans. Issue #22. Cover A.

Deathstroke is back, and he has put together a whole new death squad. He doesn’t seem to be the one calling the shots this time – how long will Slade co-operate?

How will the Titans handle the return of one of their deadliest enemies?

I feel like we’re moving through stories too fast in this series. I know theres an overarching plot in the background, but it still feels rushed to me.

Variant Covers

Nightwing. Issue #125. Variant Cover by Jorge Fornes.

Nightwing. Issue #125. 1:25 Variant Cover by Gleb Melkinov.

And that is it for this week’s haul! I hope that you enjoyed it! As always, let me know your thoughts in the comments as well as any recommendations for stuff you think I should read!

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #5. Cover A.

I really like this cover.

The Amazon Rainforest is under attack, and the Justice League is scrambling to save it.

Can someone outside of the Justice League save The Green?

New Comic Day – 27th November 2024

Posted on November 28, 2024 by White Elorda

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

Happy Thanksgiving, if you celebrate it!

How are you today? How has your week been going? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

My week is going pretty well, and I am doing OK. I’m looking forward to going on a little adventure with my partner on Saturday, and seeing my family today.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of the new DC Comics releases that I picked up from my local comic book store last night.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Batmam: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #3.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #3. Variant Cover by Arthur Adams & Peter Steigerwald.

The hunt for the Dents continues as well as the search for Jim Gordon’s kidnapped son. The new Holiday killers attempt to claim another victim – the Riddler! What could Batman and Robin learn from Edward Nygma?

Batman: Detective Comics. Issue #1091. Cover A.

Young criminals are being killed in Gotham City – and it’s up to Batman to put a stop to it. All while Bruce Wayne decides whether to accept an offer that could make him younger – will he take it?

Justice League Unlimited. Issue #1. Cover A.

The Justice League is back and better than ever! With so many heroes all working together, the world couldn’t be a safer place, right? Is someone within their ranks already planning to betray tham?

I also really enjoyed seeing the Prelude for Hush 2 that was in the back of this issue. I really hope to see Hush go up against the entire Bat-Family.

Nightwing. Issue #120. Cover A.

Things are heating up in Bludhaven! Can Dick Grayson stop the new threat to his city while also preventing a new gang war? Who is mysterious ringmaster working things behind the scenes?

Dexter Soy’s artwork continues to be amazing in this latest issue – I can only hope for a team up with Red Hood soon!

Nightwing. Issue #120. Variant Cover by Dan Panosian.

Nightwing. Issue #120. Variant Cover by Francesco Francavilla.

Green Arrow. Issue #18. Foil Variant Cover by Guillem March.

I had to add this cover to my collection, because it’s gorgeous.

And that is it for this week’s haul! I hope that you enjoyed it! As always, let me know your thoughts in the comments as well as any recommendations for stuff you think I should read!

New Comic Day: 18th September 2024

Posted on September 19, 2024 by White Elorda

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you? How has you week been going? Do you have anything planned for the weekend? Are you going out or staying in?

I’m doing pretty well. I was away from home for a little bit, so I am still getting settled again. Apologies for skipping a couple of weeks of posts – I wasn’t able to get to my local comic book store, so I wasn’t able to post.

Today’s post though is my weekly round up of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Absolute Power: Super Son. One Shot. Cover A.

As we head towards the climax of Absolute Power, we get to see Jon Kent’s journey from becoming the puppet of the Brainiac Queen and his fight to regain his free will.

Dark Knights of Steel: All Winter. Issue #3. Cover A.

The Bat-Prince arrives! Pulled away from the Kingdom of El by a mysterious power, Bat-Prince Bruce Wayne joins Slade on his journey.

John Constantine – Hellblazer: Dead in America #9.

John Constantine – Hellblazer: Dead in America. Issue #9. Cover A.

(At this point, I am going to wait until this series has ended and then just binge read all of the issues.)

Lilith. Issue #1.

A rare non-DC entry for me. Something about this cover just drew me in, so I thought I would give it a go. I’ll let you know how that goes.

This is rated for Mature Readers.

Batman: Detective Comics – Gotham Nocturne: Act II.

I am continuing my foray into reading Detective Comics with Gotham Nocturne: Act II. I like the more gothic style this has taken compare to mainline Batman, though I still enjoy the mainline Batman title as well.

And that is it for this week’s haul! I hope that you enjoyed it! As always, let me know your thoughts in the comments as well as any recommendations for stuff you think I should read!

New Comic Day – 31st July 2024

Posted on August 1, 2024 by White Elorda

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you feeling today? How has your week been going so far? Do you have any plans for the weekend?

I’m feeling OK today, and my week has been going pretty well so far. I have a lot of down time this weekend, so I am hoping to catch up on reading and sorting out my comics.

Today’s post is my weekly haul of all of the new releases I picked up from my local comic book store!

Let’s get right into it!

Absolute Power: Task Force VII. Issue #3. Cover A.

Another member of Waller’s Task Force VII is after the JSA. Will they fare any better than the former JLA members?

Red Hood: The Hill. Issue #6. Cover A.

This is it, the final issue of this mini-series. Will Red Hood and the Watch, with the help of Batman, be able to save the Hill? I guess we’ll find out.

Now that this series is finished, I want to sit and gather all my thoughts about it, then write a dedicated post with how I feel.

Super-Pets Special: Bietdentity Crisis. One-Shot. Cover A.

I could’t resist this adorable looking summer special, especially as Bitewing, Nightwing’s beloved pooch, takes centre-stage.

What mischief will the Super-Pets get into?

Batman: Detective Comics – Gotham Nocturne: Overture.

I’ve been waiting for this to come out, so I can read it all together.

And that is it for this week’s haul! I hope that you enjoyed it! As always, let me know your thoughts in the comments as well as any recommendations for stuff you think I should read!
