How are you today? How have things been going? Have you gotten upto anything fun lately?

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of all the new releases I picked up at my local comic shop.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Single Issues

Detective Comics. Issue #1096. Cover A.

Asema’s reign of terror over Gotham’s troubled youth comes to an end, and their identity is revealed.

I really liked Bruce’s arc in this storyline, even if his romantic interest is a controversial choice. I also appreciate the appearance of the whole Bat-Family in this issue.

Absolute Flash. Issue #2. Cover A.

We see more of Wally coming to understand his powers as the Rogues attempt to capture him.

The art style in this comic is amazing, and the colour work compliments it beautifully.

Nightwing. Issue #125. Cover A.

A new threat is stalking the Bludhaven Police Force, punishing those who violate “the law.”

I think this is a weird swerve away from the story that was already being established, but we’ll see where it goes.

Titans. Issue #22. Cover A.

Deathstroke is back, and he has put together a whole new death squad. He doesn’t seem to be the one calling the shots this time – how long will Slade co-operate?

How will the Titans handle the return of one of their deadliest enemies?

I feel like we’re moving through stories too fast in this series. I know theres an overarching plot in the background, but it still feels rushed to me.

I’m doing pretty well. I enjoyed a chill convention with friends last weekend, and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new releases that I picked up from my local comic book shop. I also have some new statues that I will be sharing with you soon!

Single Issues

Batman. Issue #158. Cover A.

The long-awaited sequel to the Hush storyline is finally here.

What could Bruce’s former best friend have in store for Batman now that he has returned to Gotham? Whatever it is, it starts with the Joker.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how this storyline plays out, as Hush is one of my favourite Batman stories.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #6

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #6. Cover A.

We’re now more than halfway through this story, and it feels like we’re no closer to answers. Another holiday is approaching, who will be the target this time? Will Batman, along with Robin, be able to figure out who is behind these crimes – before it’s too late?

Graphic Novels

Nightwing. Volume 7: Fallen Grayson.

The end of the Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo run of Nightwing is here in graphic novel form.

Nightwing finally faces off against Heartless – who will win the Battle for Bludhaven’s heart, and will Nightwing overcome his fear of the plunge?

New Comic Day – 19th February 2025

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you today? How has the week been treating you so far? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

My week has been pretty good. I attended Katsucon last week, which was a blast – thanks to some of my amazing friends. I’m getting settled back in at home now, and it’s been pretty relaxing.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of the new releases that I picked up from my local comic book store.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Batman & Robin: Year One. Issue #5. Cover A.

Bruce and Dick continue to be at odds as a gang war is being orchestrated in Gotham’s underworld.

Batman has his first face-off with Clayface, and Robin goes off on his own – can the dynamic duo learn to work as a team, before it’s too late?

Nightwing. Issue #123. Cover A.

Nightwing continues to try and come to the heart of the conspiracy working in Bludhaven. Can he convince the gangs to trust him enough to stop a war?

Miranda’s job as Mayor is under threat – what kind of deal with the devil will she make? And how will that impact Nightwing as the story progresses?

This storyline is starting to get intriguing – not that it hasn’t been from the start. I hope that we get more circus clues in the next issue, just to keep that theme going.

Titans. Issue #20. Cover A.

Raven’s powers continue to be on the fritz, and they are affecting the other Titans.

Deathstroke’s plan is starting to come together, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it will go, and how the Titans will handle it under Donna’s leadership.

I’m giving this story another chance now that I can read it all in one go. I don’t think my opinion on it is going to change too much, but I’m willing to try.

As a Red Hood fan, I really just want to see him get decent storylines again, that actually focus on him, and don’t just use his name because it makes money.

Happy Thanksgiving, if you celebrate it!

How are you today? How has your week been going? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

My week is going pretty well, and I am doing OK. I’m looking forward to going on a little adventure with my partner on Saturday, and seeing my family today.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of the new DC Comics releases that I picked up from my local comic book store last night.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Batmam: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #3.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #3. Variant Cover by Arthur Adams & Peter Steigerwald.

The hunt for the Dents continues as well as the search for Jim Gordon’s kidnapped son. The new Holiday killers attempt to claim another victim – the Riddler! What could Batman and Robin learn from Edward Nygma?

Batman: Detective Comics. Issue #1091. Cover A.

Young criminals are being killed in Gotham City – and it’s up to Batman to put a stop to it. All while Bruce Wayne decides whether to accept an offer that could make him younger – will he take it?

Justice League Unlimited. Issue #1. Cover A.

The Justice League is back and better than ever! With so many heroes all working together, the world couldn’t be a safer place, right? Is someone within their ranks already planning to betray tham?

I also really enjoyed seeing the Prelude for Hush 2 that was in the back of this issue. I really hope to see Hush go up against the entire Bat-Family.

Nightwing. Issue #120. Cover A.

Things are heating up in Bludhaven! Can Dick Grayson stop the new threat to his city while also preventing a new gang war? Who is mysterious ringmaster working things behind the scenes?

Dexter Soy’s artwork continues to be amazing in this latest issue – I can only hope for a team up with Red Hood soon!

New Comic Day – 23rd October 2024

How are you today? How has your week been going so far? Do you have anything planned for the weekend that you’re looking forward to?

I’m doing OK. My week has been so-so. I’m going to a Fall Festival tonight, and I am hoping to see some friends tomorrow night at a local market, so I’m looking forward to that. I’ve also been catching up on my backlog of single issue comics.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic releases that I picked up from my local comic shop yesterday.

Let’s get right into it, shall we?

Batman: The Brave and The Bold. Issue #18. Cover A.

Batman: A Death in the Family – Robin Lives #4

Batman: A Death in the Family – Robin Lives! Issue #4 (Final). Variant Cover by Lee Bermejo.

I will admit, I was disappointed by the end of this mini-series. I’ll just say this – with the way this ended, if this was the initial intent, Jason was better off dying back in the original Death in the Family run.

Nightwing. Issue #119. Cover A.

The Dan Watters run begins! There is definitely a tonal shift in this new run for Nightwing, but I feel like it still picks up will from the end of the Tom Taylor run.

Dexter Soy is one of my favourite comic artists, so I am really hoping for some Nightwing and Red Hood team-ups during this run.

We love a broody variant cover.

Nightwing. Issue #119. Trick or Treat Variant Cover by Kelley Jones & Jose Villarrubia.

Another Trick or Treat Variant for the collection. I love that this one plays on Dick’s former life as an acrobat.

John Constantine: Hellblazer – Dead in America #10

John Constantine: Hellblazer – Dead in America. Issue #10. Cover A.

Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent.

It feels like it took a while for this graphic novel to be released, or maybe I just missed the initial printing.

This story has Jon Kent exploring the multiverse and finding himself in the Injustice universe of all places! How will he make his way in a world that is so different from his own?

My week so far has been OK. I celebrated my 10 year anniversary with my partner, which was pretty cool, but other than that the week has just been so-so.

It’s the public debut of the dynamic duo in this new comic run! How will Gotham City react to Batman’s young new partner?

I’m curious to see where this run will go. The first issue was a good setup, and establishes the dynamic between Bruce and Dick really well.

Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter. Issue #4. Cover A.

Nightwing. Issue #118. Cover A.

The last issue of Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo’s run of Nightwing!

Nightwing finally faces off against Heartless man-to-man! How will he defeat his latest villain, who is determined to destroy him as both Nightwing and Dick Grayson?

I am looking forward to seeing where Dan Watters and Dexter Soy take this story.

For today though, I am here to share this week’s DC Comics releases that I picked up from my local comic book store.

Nightwing. Issue #117. Cover A.

Can Deadman help Nightwing overcome his fear of jumping? Will Dick learn what has been holding him back?

We’ll find out in the pen-ultimate issue of Fallen Grayson, the end of Tom Taylor’s run as Nightwing’s writer.

Nightwing. Issue #117. Super Powers Variant Cover.

I have a couple of these figures in my collection, so this cover tickled me, especially as it’s the Discowing outfit – one of my personal favourites.

Titans. Issue #14. Cover A.

Trigon continues with his plan to conquer Earth, and destroy the Titans.

I’m really excited to see more of Swamp Thing.

Gotham City Sirens. Issue #3. Cover A.

The Sirens have been captured by Punchline at her weird ranch. How will they escape?

Dark Knights of Steel: All Winter. Issue #2. Cover A.

Rose makes an appearance, but will she stand with Slade, or against him?

I’m looking forward to seeing how this series ties into the greater world of Dark Knights of Steel. It’s been pretty fun to read so far.

I am doing pretty well. I finally saw Deadpool and Wolverine yesterday, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m also looking forward to a chill weekend.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of all of the new releases I picked up from my local comic book store.

Let’s dive right in! I have a lot to share with you this week!

Wayne Family Adventures. Volume 5.

I’ve been really enjoying the collected editions of this adorable series. It’s nice to see the the Bat-Family in something more slice-of-life that explores their relationships with one-another.

Batman. Issue #151. Cover A.

Another Absolute Power Tie-In issue. Batman and Catwoman join forces to find a way of taking down Amanda Waller.

Batman. Issue #151. Variant Cover by Mikel Janin.

I love Bruce’s resistance outfit, so I picked up this cover.

Batman. Issue #151. Variant Cover by Olivier Coipel.

I laughed so hard when I saw this cover, so I had to pick it up. The swimsuit variants never disappoint.

Just look at Alfred’s face, it is the best thing about this cover.

Absolute Power. Issue #2. Cover A.

Jon Kent has been changed, and now he is going to face off against his own father. Can Clark break Jon out of it?

The Boy Wonder. Issue #4. Cover A.

Damian is back in the grasp of Ra’s and Talia al Ghul. Will he turn his back on everything the Batman, and his brothers, have been trying to teach him?

My Adventures with Superman. Issue #3.

Clark got himself, and Superman, arrested! He is still determned to help the Amazo robot, so it is up to Lois and Jimmy to break Superman out!

Gotham City Sirens. Issue #1.

I am so excited to see these 3 girls back together again – what shenanigans will they get up to?

Batman & Robin. Volume 1: Father and Son.

This collects the first 6 issues of Batman & Robin. Damian is learning to navigate his toughtest challenge ever – high school!

Nightwing: Year One (20th Anniversary Edition).

I am so excited to finally own this! One of my favourite Nightwing artists, Scott McDaniel, brings the story of how Nightwing came to be, to life.

This follows Dick Grayson’s journey from Robin, to the independent hero he was meant to be, including the origin of the Nightwing name.

Of course I had to pick up the Dan Mora version as well. I simply adore this cover!

I’ve been doing OK, I’m actively trying to sort through my backlog of graphic novels and catch up on my reading. Thankfully, it seems as though my TBR list is not as long as I had first thought!

Today’s post is my usual weekly rundown of the new comic book releases I picked up from my local shop.

Let’s jump right in, shall we?

Nightwing. Issue #116. Cover A.

The Fallen Grayson saga continues with Dick leaving Bludhaven to seek out Nanda Parbat and Deadman aka Boston Brand. Meanwhile, back in the city that Dick loves, someone else is taking up the mantle of Nightwing.

I love seeing Dick traveling with Haley in this one, and seeing her all grown up.

Nightwing. Issue #116. Variant Cover by Rian Gonzales.

I can never resist a variant cover that has Red Hood on it, plus this one is just so cute!

Nightwing. Issue #116. 1:25 Incentive Variant Cover by Tirso.

Another variant cover I just couldn’t resist. I love the Bludhaven vibe of this one, if you know what I mean.

John Constantine – Hellblazer: Dead in America #7

John Constantine – Hellblazer: Dead in America. Issue #7. Cover A.

I really need to catch up with this run, I’ve been behind since issue 4 I think. Maybe that will be what I do after work today…

Titans. Issue #13. Cover A.

The Dark-Winged Queen’s plans continue, but it seems as though she may have more to deal with than just the Titans as a mysterious visitor shows up in Hell.

Plus, Beast Boy is beginning to get his groove back after the events of Beast World, while facing off against what could be his toughest opponent ever.

Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter. Issues #1. Cover A.

Dark Knights of Steel was the comic that got me back into comics, so I was really excited to hear that it would be getting a sequel, even if an indirect one.

This series follows Slade as he battles his way through the frozen kingdoms of the North. He starts working for Vandal Savage, but where he will end up, we can only wait and see.

I’m also a big fan of Jay Kristoff, so I’m excited to read more of this story he has written.

Batman. Issue #149. Cover A.

Dark Prisons has come to an end, and we are headed for Absolute Power.

All of the loose ends from Zur’s reign in the Failsafe body are being tied up. What will become of Bruce’s clone? What of Batman’s relationship with Vandal Savage, the Police Commissioner, and a new home for the Bat-Family?

Nightwing. Issue #115. Cover A.

Fallen Grayson continues as we learn more about Heartless’s plans for Dick, and Nightwing. Will out hero learn to take that leap again by the end.

This one ends on a pretty good cliffhanger.

Nightwing. Issue #115. Variant Cover by Dan Mora.

Of course I couldn’t resist the Dan Mora cover!

Titans. Issue #12. Cover A.

The Titan’s deal with the threat that has invaded their home, and learn the truth of this misguided assassin.

The Dark-Winged Queen begins to reveal her plans for the Titans, leading to a surprise cliffhanger.

John Constantine – Hellblazer: Dead in America #6.

John Constantine – Hellblazer: Dead in America. Issue #6. Cover A.

I will admit that I have fallen behind with this one, but I hope to catch up with John’s spooky adventures through the United States soon.
