Today’s post is my weekly round up of new comic releases that I picked up from my local comic book shop.

Single Issues

Absolute Flash. Issue #3. Cover A.

Has Wally finally found an ally in this mad new world of his?

Grodd’s design is adorable, and a little unsettling all at the same time.

Batman & Robin: Year One. Issue #7. Cover A.

Batman and Robin are starting to figure out their dynamic. Two-Face attempts to recruit Clayface. Someone is following Bruce – will they discover his secret?

Detective Comics. Issue #1097. Cover A.

Now that Asema is behind bars, Batman moves on to the next part of the mystery – the organisation behind her. Is Harvey Bullock the only one who can help?

It’s really cool to start seeing detective work become part of the story again.

Nightwing. Issue #126. Cover A.

The secret of Captain Hallow is revealed, and the Commissioner realises that there is no-one she can trust.

Will she be able to put her trust in Nightwing? And have they stopped Captain Hallow for good?

Titans. Issue #23. Cover A.

The Titans are trying to adjust to their newest member. Is Vanadia all that appears, or could something more sinister be lurking within her circuits?

Compendiums

Nightwing: A Knight in Bludhaven. Compendium #2.

Nightwing’s new life in Bludhaven continues as Dick Grayson decides to become a member of the Bludhaven Police Force. Will he be able to change things from the inside?

I love having these stories in Compendium format – it makes them much easier to binge read.

New Comic Day – 16th April 2025

How are you today? How have things been going? Have you gotten upto anything fun lately?

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of all the new releases I picked up at my local comic shop.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Single Issues

Detective Comics. Issue #1096. Cover A.

Asema’s reign of terror over Gotham’s troubled youth comes to an end, and their identity is revealed.

I really liked Bruce’s arc in this storyline, even if his romantic interest is a controversial choice. I also appreciate the appearance of the whole Bat-Family in this issue.

Absolute Flash. Issue #2. Cover A.

We see more of Wally coming to understand his powers as the Rogues attempt to capture him.

The art style in this comic is amazing, and the colour work compliments it beautifully.

Nightwing. Issue #125. Cover A.

A new threat is stalking the Bludhaven Police Force, punishing those who violate “the law.”

I think this is a weird swerve away from the story that was already being established, but we’ll see where it goes.

Titans. Issue #22. Cover A.

Deathstroke is back, and he has put together a whole new death squad. He doesn’t seem to be the one calling the shots this time – how long will Slade co-operate?

How will the Titans handle the return of one of their deadliest enemies?

I feel like we’re moving through stories too fast in this series. I know theres an overarching plot in the background, but it still feels rushed to me.

Absolute Batman. Issue #7. Cover A.

The introductory story is over, and we’re starting something new. Gotham City is changing, and not in the way Bruce had hoped. The death of a childhood friend sends Bruce, and the Batman, down a chilling road.

What will Batman find in the Ice?

Batman & Robin. Issue #20. Cover A.

Memento has taken Robin, and Batman is still fighting off the effects of the Gravedigger’s Poppy. He’s called on the Bat-Family to find Damian, but maybe Bruce will have to believe in his son’s abilities as a detective to give him the break in the case that he needs.

Will he get to his son in time?

DC vs Vampires: World War V. Issue #8. Cover A.

I’m doing OK – I’m looking forward to a chill weekend after getting a big project done last weekend.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new releases that I picked up from my local comic shop.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Absolute Superman. Issue #6. Cover A.

We finally get to see Kal’s relationship and meeting with the Kents in the final issue of the opening storyline to this series. I’m really enjoying this run -it’s a fresh take on Superman, without having to resort to him being evil.

I’m looking forward to seeing where this is going to go next.

Justice League Unlimited. Issue #5. Cover A.

Technically, this was released last week, but I only picked it up yesterday.

The secret behind Inferno is revealed, and a Justice League member betrays the rest of the group.

The plot is thickening, and I’m excited to see what else is in store for a Justice League spread thin.

I’m doing pretty well. I enjoyed a chill convention with friends last weekend, and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new releases that I picked up from my local comic book shop. I also have some new statues that I will be sharing with you soon!

Single Issues

Batman. Issue #158. Cover A.

The long-awaited sequel to the Hush storyline is finally here.

What could Bruce’s former best friend have in store for Batman now that he has returned to Gotham? Whatever it is, it starts with the Joker.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how this storyline plays out, as Hush is one of my favourite Batman stories.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #6

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #6. Cover A.

We’re now more than halfway through this story, and it feels like we’re no closer to answers. Another holiday is approaching, who will be the target this time? Will Batman, along with Robin, be able to figure out who is behind these crimes – before it’s too late?

Graphic Novels

Nightwing. Volume 7: Fallen Grayson.

The end of the Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo run of Nightwing is here in graphic novel form.

Nightwing finally faces off against Heartless – who will win the Battle for Bludhaven’s heart, and will Nightwing overcome his fear of the plunge?

New Comic Day – 19th February 2025

Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you today? How has the week been treating you so far? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

My week has been pretty good. I attended Katsucon last week, which was a blast – thanks to some of my amazing friends. I’m getting settled back in at home now, and it’s been pretty relaxing.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of the new releases that I picked up from my local comic book store.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Batman & Robin: Year One. Issue #5. Cover A.

Bruce and Dick continue to be at odds as a gang war is being orchestrated in Gotham’s underworld.

Batman has his first face-off with Clayface, and Robin goes off on his own – can the dynamic duo learn to work as a team, before it’s too late?

Nightwing. Issue #123. Cover A.

Nightwing continues to try and come to the heart of the conspiracy working in Bludhaven. Can he convince the gangs to trust him enough to stop a war?

Miranda’s job as Mayor is under threat – what kind of deal with the devil will she make? And how will that impact Nightwing as the story progresses?

This storyline is starting to get intriguing – not that it hasn’t been from the start. I hope that we get more circus clues in the next issue, just to keep that theme going.

Titans. Issue #20. Cover A.

Raven’s powers continue to be on the fritz, and they are affecting the other Titans.

Deathstroke’s plan is starting to come together, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it will go, and how the Titans will handle it under Donna’s leadership.

Red Hood: The Hill.

I’m giving this story another chance now that I can read it all in one go. I don’t think my opinion on it is going to change too much, but I’m willing to try.

As a Red Hood fan, I really just want to see him get decent storylines again, that actually focus on him, and don’t just use his name because it makes money.
