Hello Nerdy Birdies!

How are you doing today? How has your week been going? Do you have anything fun coming up this weekend?

I’m doing pretty well, at least as well as I can be. I am looking forward to visiting an Aquarium this weekend, and I have an anime convention coming up.

Today’s post is my weekly roundup of the new releases I picked up from my local comic book shop.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Absolute Superman. Issue #4. Cover A.

Lois Lane is on the search for Superman, being fascinated by him, and the stories from the people he has saved.

We also see more of the Brainiac System, and we start to get a feeling for the scope of Kal’s activities, and the people he has helped.

I am really enjoying this series, probably the most out of all of the Absolute series so far.

I adore this cover – it is just so cool to look at.

Batman. Issue #157. Cover A.

Batman faces off against “Commander Star” as the Dying City arc comes to an end.

I have really enjoyed seeing Riddler being used as a proper villain again, though he did end up getting overshadowed a bit towards the end.

Next will be the Hush sequel, which I am really excited for!

Absolute Power Graphic Novel.

I am looking forward to reading through this storyline again all in one go.

I’m doing pretty well. I’m looking forward to the weekend, and I started a new knitting project!!

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of the new comic releases that I picked up from my local comic book store.

Absolute Power: Task Force VII. Issue #4. Cover A.

It’s Failsafe vs Nightwing as our heroes struggle to figure out how to defeat Amanda Waller and her group of superpower stealing robots!

I really love seeing Nightwing come into his own in this series.

Batman & Robin. Issue #12. Cover A.

Now that they’ve found Bane on Dinosaur Island, will Damian take his revenge?

Also, Bane has a daughter?

Death in the Family: Robin Lives. Issue #2. Variant Cover by Dan Mora.

Jason continues to struggle to come to terms with his trauma, and Bruce isn’t exactly helping. Will Dick Grayson be able to step in and be the support that both Batman and Robin really need.

I couldn’t resist this variant cover from Dan Mora. I’m getting quite a collection of them.

DC vs Vampires: World War V. Issue #1. Cover A.

The massively popular DC vs Vampires returns! Barbara Gordon is now Queen of the Vampires, what are her plans for what remains of humanity?

Damian is building a vampire army, and Green Arrow is desperately trying to protect the humans that are left.

I’m really excited to see where this series will go!

Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age #3.

Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age. Issue #3. Variant Cover by Felipe Massafera.

I still need to read Issue #2, which I also picked up yesterday, so I am a little behind on this series.

I love this variant cover though, it has a really cool old-school treasure hunter vibe.

Gotham City Sirens. Issue #2. Cover A.

The Sirens are back together, and it is up to them to put an end to Punchline’s game!

How are you feeling today? How has your week been going so far? Do you have any plans for the weekend?

I’m feeling OK today, and my week has been going pretty well so far. I have a lot of down time this weekend, so I am hoping to catch up on reading and sorting out my comics.

Today’s post is my weekly haul of all of the new releases I picked up from my local comic book store!

Absolute Power: Task Force VII. Issue #3. Cover A.

Another member of Waller’s Task Force VII is after the JSA. Will they fare any better than the former JLA members?

Red Hood: The Hill. Issue #6. Cover A.

This is it, the final issue of this mini-series. Will Red Hood and the Watch, with the help of Batman, be able to save the Hill? I guess we’ll find out.

Now that this series is finished, I want to sit and gather all my thoughts about it, then write a dedicated post with how I feel.

Super-Pets Special: Bietdentity Crisis. One-Shot. Cover A.

I could’t resist this adorable looking summer special, especially as Bitewing, Nightwing’s beloved pooch, takes centre-stage.

What mischief will the Super-Pets get into?

Batman: Detective Comics – Gotham Nocturne: Overture.

I’ve been waiting for this to come out, so I can read it all together.
