Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How are you today? How has your week been going? I hope that this post finds you well.

I’m doing well – I’m enjoying the rain today, despite the chill it brings with it.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of new comic releases that I picked up from my local store.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Absolute Batman 2025 Annual. One Shot. Cover A.

Absolute Batman takes on some white nationalists in this one-shot annual issue. We get to see a little bit more of Bruce’s relationship with his father, and we learn more insight into how this Absolute Batman’s mind works.

The art style of both stories contained in here is very cool. It’s very bold and dynamic.

Batman & Robin: Year One. Issue #12. Cover A.

In the final issue of this run, we see the Dynamic Duo earn that nickname as they take on Two-Face and Clayface.

I really have enjoyed the way that this story has built up the relationship between both Batman and Robin, as well as Bruce and Dick. It’s a kind of wholesome that we don’t see much in Batman stories anymore.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #10.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #10. Cover A.

Another final issue; and another final issue that pits Batman and Robin against Two-Face.

The ‘freaks’ of Gotham face of against the ‘family’ of Gotham, made up of the remnants of the Falcone Crime Family. Can Batman stop the war before it starts, before it spills out over all of Gotham? Can he finally put a stop to the Holiday killer?

Another run that I really enjoyed – I just need to go back and read it as a whole, as there were some gaps in the publication, and I tend to forget little details.

Return to Sleepy Hollow. Issue #1. Cover A.

Set several years after the Tim Burton film Sleepy Hollow, this spooky tale follows a new set of murders in the small hamlet of Sleepy Hollow.

This was a perfect Halloween read and I am looking forward to seeing where it goes!

New Comic Day – 8th October 2025

How are you today? How has your week been going? Are you looking forward to the weekend? Has life been treating you well?

I’m doing relatively OK. I’m a little bit off thanks to the change in the seasons, but I am sure that once the weather evens out, I will feel much better.

Today’s post is my weekly roundup of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop yesterday.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Absolute Batman. Issue #13. Cover A.

Absolute Catwoman has arrived, and she is just as fearsome as her Batman counterpart.

I really like the way that the relationship between Bruce and Selina has been established in this universe.

Finally, it seems as though Bruce is ready to take on Bane. How will Harley Quinn factor in to things going forward?

Batman & Robin. Issue #26. Cover A.

The true target of the Quiet Man’s killings has been revealed. Will he go through Batman, Robin, Penguin, and Two-Face all to get to his man?

I do like that we have been exploring new villains in this run, instead of just defaulting to the same things again and again.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice #4.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice. Issue #4. Cover A.

The League for Justice comes together to face off with General Zod.

What is Lex Luthor planning, and how does it involve Adam Strange?

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #9.

DC KO. Issue #1. Variant Cover by Dan Mora.

DC KO kicks off with a bang.

Earth’s heroes have only 7 days to put together the plan that will stop Darkseid’s return and subsequent path of destruction.

I’ll probably talk about this a little bit in a separate post, but I feel like we’re re-using a plot point way too soon after a previous storyline – other than that, I am looking forward to seeing how the writers handle making all of these heroes fight each other.

I’m also really looking forward to the crossover with the Absolute universe.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #8. Cover A.

The mystery surrounding the new Holiday Murders is starting to unravel. Batman works with Jim Gordon to hunt down Harvey Dent. What is Catwoman’s plan and role in all of this?

Nightwing. Annual 2025 (One-Shot). Cover A.

We finally learn some of the history of the Cirque de Sin in this year’s Nightwing Annual. There are still some mysteries to reveal, but it feels good to know more about their interest in Nightwing, as well as the background of Olivia.

Titans. Annual 2025 (One-Shot). Cover A.

This retrospective on Donna Troy is an adorable and heartbreaking story. We get Donna’s story from her perspective and her growth as a hero.

It was a refreshing break from the seeming break neck pace that we are going through storylines in the Titans’ run so far.

Happy Thanksgiving, if you celebrate it!

How are you today? How has your week been going? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

My week is going pretty well, and I am doing OK. I’m looking forward to going on a little adventure with my partner on Saturday, and seeing my family today.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of the new DC Comics releases that I picked up from my local comic book store last night.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Batmam: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #3.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #3. Variant Cover by Arthur Adams & Peter Steigerwald.

The hunt for the Dents continues as well as the search for Jim Gordon’s kidnapped son. The new Holiday killers attempt to claim another victim – the Riddler! What could Batman and Robin learn from Edward Nygma?

Batman: Detective Comics. Issue #1091. Cover A.

Young criminals are being killed in Gotham City – and it’s up to Batman to put a stop to it. All while Bruce Wayne decides whether to accept an offer that could make him younger – will he take it?

Justice League Unlimited. Issue #1. Cover A.

The Justice League is back and better than ever! With so many heroes all working together, the world couldn’t be a safer place, right? Is someone within their ranks already planning to betray tham?

I also really enjoyed seeing the Prelude for Hush 2 that was in the back of this issue. I really hope to see Hush go up against the entire Bat-Family.

Nightwing. Issue #120. Cover A.

Things are heating up in Bludhaven! Can Dick Grayson stop the new threat to his city while also preventing a new gang war? Who is mysterious ringmaster working things behind the scenes?

Dexter Soy’s artwork continues to be amazing in this latest issue – I can only hope for a team up with Red Hood soon!

Happy Halloween to those of you who celebrate it! Do you have anything fun going on for the holiday?

My week has been going pretty well, and I am excited for Halloween today. It’s my favourite holiday, as well as my wedding anniversary!

Today’s post is my weekly round up of the recent releases that I picked up from my local comic book shop.

Let’s dive right in – shall we?

Batman – The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween #2.

Batman – The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween. Issue #2. Cover A.

I’ve really been enjoying this sequel so far. Things are really ramping up – Two Face is still on the run with Gilda, Commissioner Gordon’s young son has been kidnapped, and now someone is trying to kill the Penguin!? Will Batman be able to solve the case, with the help of Robin?

I enjoy that Robin has been included in this story, as I like getting to see what different writers do with the early dynamic between him and Batman.

Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing: Feral Trees. Issue #1. Variant Cover by Jessica Fong.

Something is happening in the forest, and it is up to Poison Ivy and Swamp Thing to figure out what. I’m looking forward to seeing where this story goes, and where it will take Ivy’s character.

The Nice House By The Sea. Issue #4. Cover A.

It’s nice to see the return of the Vertigo label.
