I hope that this post finds you well!

How are you today? Has the week been treating you well? Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

I am doing very well at the moment – I am looking forward to my first convention of the year coming up next week. I’ll get to see some dear friends, so I am quite excited.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic books releases that I picked up from my local shop on the day of release.

Let’s get right into the haul – shall we?

Single Issues

Absolute Superman. Issue #16. Cover A.

It’s Superman vs Hawkman as the winged avenger tries to teach the “rookie” a thing or two.

Will Clark listen to the veteran warrior? Or is he too distracted by the screaming?

I don’t really care for the art style in this issue. I’m also not a huge fan of Absolute Hawkman’s character, not when he’s being such a hypocrite.

We’ll see how things play out though.

Batman. Issue #6. Cover A.

It’s been a long night for Batman – between Damian revealing his familial connection to Robin, fighting Hugo Strange’ monster men, whatever is going on with the mob, as well as doing everything else he can to keep the streets of Gotham safe.

When Tim comes to him with a important announcement – one that will shake the family to it’s core – how will Bruce take it?

Will Damian ever be able to forgive his brother for abandoning the Robin mantle?

Batman/Static Beyond. Issue #3. Cover A.

The heroes attempt to re-group in the wake of Shutdown’s attack.

Everybody’s powers are on the fritz and no-one knows how to fix it – even a shocking plan from Terry doesn’t get Virgil back to his full strength.

When Shutdown sets his sights on Dakota City – will the heroes be able to come together to stop him?

KnightFight. Issue #4. Cover A.

The final issue of KnightFight is here, and Bruce’s game with the Heart of Apokolips is over.

Bruce has experienced something that he never thought he would – peace. A peace brought about by his own son. Will he fight to make this future a reality?

What is the Heart of Apokolips trying to teach him? What is the point of this little game?

This was such a good run – I really enjoyed it.

Nightwing begins his battle against the Zanni – the God of the Cirque du Sin.

Now not just the children of Bludhaven are in danger – the whole city is at risk as the Cirque’s mad games begin.

Titans. Issue #31. Cover A.

It seems as though everything that can go wrong for the Titans, is going wrong.

On Earth, Donna Troy and Arsenal take on Grail, Darkseid’s daughter.

The fight for Gemworld also continues as Nightwing does his best to hold off Jinx while Raven releases Terra to seek out her help. Will Terra end up helping her former teammates – or is she only looking out for herself?

The war for Gotham’s Underworld is about to heat up – will the Dynamic Duo be able to stop what is coming?

We’re down to the Final 8 in the Apokolips Tournament, and each combatant now has to choose someone to tag-team with. Not from the other participants, but from those who have fallen.

Will they be ready to face the Absolutes on what remains of the shattered Earth?

I am going alright at the moment. still recovering from the holiday season, and figuring out my goals for 2026.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic releases that I picked up yesterday from my local shop.

Single Issues

Absolute Batman: Ark-M. One-Shot. Cover A.

We learn the bloody history of Arkham Asylum, and the man who founded it, in the Absolute Universe – was Amadeus Arkham doomed to unleash madness from the start?

We also learn a little bit more about the enigmatic Jack Grimm, and get a peek at who will be coming for the Batman next.

Absolute Superman. Issue #15. Cover A.

It’s the aftermath of the Battle of Kansas, and Kal, now living as Clark Kent on the Kent Farm, is trying to help as many people in the world as he can. Can he silence the un-ending screams?

What does the appearance of Hawkman mean for the Superman? What does Brainiac want with Lex Luthor?

Batman. Issue #5. Cover A.

A bounty has been placed on the good doctor’s head – so it’s up to Brucie Wayne to keep her safe. It certainly makes for an interesting date night.

It seems he might also have some explaining to do, after a slip of the tongue from his Robin.

KnightFight. Issue #3. Cover A.

Bruce refuses to play along with the Heart’s games anymore, and will not fight his children. How will the Heart of Apokolips punish him for his insolence?

I feel like Tim really got the short end of the stick with this series, only featuring in half an issue; and poor Jason has been left all alone.

It’s Cyborg vs Swamp Thing in a best 2 out of 3 fight.

Can Victor come out on top over the very Earth itself?

New Comic Day – 3rd December 2025

I’m doing quite well – I had a really relaxing holiday weekend with my family. I also got some snow, which really puts me in the winter mood.

Today’s post is my weekly round-up of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop.

Single Issues

Batman. Issue #4. Cover A.

The Minotaur has entered the ring – will he turn all of Gotham City into his own private labyrinth? Or will Batman be able to stop him?

Knight Fight. Issue #2. Cover A.

Knight Fight continues. Bruce wraps up his fight with Dick Grayson and his army of Robins, before finding himself in another strange version of Gotham.

This time the Batman he faces is Jason Todd – who believes that he is Clayface!

Will Bruce be able to convince his second Robin that he really is who he says that he is?

As a little side note – thank you to Dan Mora for not making older Jason ugly.

Gotham Academy: First Year. Issue #3. Cover A.

Things seem to be going well for Olive Silverlock now that she has settled into life at Gotham Academy – she even has one of the leading parts in the school production.

She’s still having to deal with bullies – though she also has someone watching over her to keep her out of danger.

Will things keep going well – or will something come along to throw a spanner into the works?

Love this cover – just the absolute size of Jason compared to Bruce.

I’m doing OK today – keeping myself busy, looking forward to the upcoming holidays.

Today’s post is my weekly roundup of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop.

Single Issues

Absolute Flash. Issue #9. Cover A.

Wally joins up with the rogues, all for his father’s sake, but is there a traitor among them? The details of Thawne’s plan start to come together.

Nightwing. Issue #132. Cover A.

The Zanni, Olivia, and the Cirque du Sin put their plan into action – what will the spotlight do to Nightwing? Will he be able to save the children who continue to go missing around Bludhaven?

While I am enjoying this stoeyline, I feel like we’re recycling the same plot point from the arc with Heartless, except with Nightwing instead of Dick directly.

Titans. Issue #29. Cover A.

The evacuation of Earth continues in another DC KO tie-in. Each Titan will face different challenges, enemies from the past, and who knows what else.

I like how this issue leads into Cyborg’s arc in DC KO.

Variant Covers

Batman/Deadpool. One-shot. Variant cover by Bruno Redondo.

Today’s post is my weekly round up of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop.

Single Issues

Batman. Issue #162. Cover A.

The Hush 2 saga continues and it’t Batman vs The Bat-Family. Hush is watching everything unfold, waiting to make his move – but what is his plan?

I appreciate Jim Lee’s art, and seeing Jason in his style, but it kind of feels like the continuity left this behind.

Batman & Robin. Issue #27. Cover A.

After a face-off with the Quiet Man, Bruce is getting closer to figuring out who he might be.

The Rogues, namely Two-Face and Penguin, hunt down Arnold Wesker, the man who used to be the Ventriloquist.

I absolutely adore this cover by Carmine di Giandomenico – who is one of my favourite comic artists at the moment.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice #5.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice. Issue #5. Cover A.

The League has to decide what to do with the incapacitated Zod before he wakes up. Diana takes them to the Sunless Lands – where the Amazon’s reside in the hope that they can imprison him there.

Are they already too late? Lex has opened the door to the Phantom Zone – what will step through it?

Batman/Static Beyond. Issue #1. Cover A.

Terry McGinnis is back as Batman Beyond in this new story that follows him and Vergil Hawkins, also known at Static Shock, or just Static.

There’s a whole movement around a new energy, and Terry finds himself pulled in with a new friend who wants to put a stop to it.

I’m just really happy to have more Terry McGinnis as Batman Beyond – I was admittedly a little disappointed when the Justice League Unlimited Batmna Beyond was revealed to be Tim Drake.

We learn more about the backstory of Barry Allen, and his work at Fort Fox. What does the mysterious Dr Thawne want with the power of the ‘red energy’?

Nightwing. Issue #131. Cover A.

It feels as though we’re finally moving into the main arc of the story, with the Cirque beginning to take centre stage. Children in Bludhaven are going missing – will Nightwing and the police department be able to work together to find them?

How will Nightwing deal with being a mentor to a young hero?

Titans. Issue #28. Cover A.

In this tie-in with DK KO, the evacuation of Earth has begun, as the heroes who stayed behind, namely the Titans, try to get every human being off the planet before the arrival of Darkseid.

I’m doing relatively OK. I’m a little bit off thanks to the change in the seasons, but I am sure that once the weather evens out, I will feel much better.

Today’s post is my weekly roundup of new comic releases that I picked up from my local shop yesterday.

Let’s get right into it – shall we?

Single Issues

Absolute Batman. Issue #13. Cover A.

Absolute Catwoman has arrived, and she is just as fearsome as her Batman counterpart.

I really like the way that the relationship between Bruce and Selina has been established in this universe.

Finally, it seems as though Bruce is ready to take on Bane. How will Harley Quinn factor in to things going forward?

Batman & Robin. Issue #26. Cover A.

The true target of the Quiet Man’s killings has been revealed. Will he go through Batman, Robin, Penguin, and Two-Face all to get to his man?

I do like that we have been exploring new villains in this run, instead of just defaulting to the same things again and again.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice #4.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice. Issue #4. Cover A.

The League for Justice comes together to face off with General Zod.

What is Lex Luthor planning, and how does it involve Adam Strange?

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #9.

Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween. Issue #9. Variant Cover by Juanjo Guarnido.

DC KO. Issue #1. Variant Cover by Dan Mora.

DC KO kicks off with a bang.

Earth’s heroes have only 7 days to put together the plan that will stop Darkseid’s return and subsequent path of destruction.

I’ll probably talk about this a little bit in a separate post, but I feel like we’re re-using a plot point way too soon after a previous storyline – other than that, I am looking forward to seeing how the writers handle making all of these heroes fight each other.

I’m also really looking forward to the crossover with the Absolute universe.
