Good Morning Nerdy Birdies!

How was your weekend? I hope that you had a relaxing time, and all of your plans went exactly as you hoped.

My weekend was a lot more hectic than I thought it was going to be, but that’s OK, I had a good time.

I’m a day late with last week’s haul, but better last than never right?

Let’s jump right into it!

As always, I will start with the individual issues and move onto graphic novels.

Individual Issues

Batman. Issue #138. Regular Cover.

Gotham Wars Part 4. Things are starting to heat up between the Bat-Family.

This cover is so adorable! A great way to start off the spooky season!

DC’s Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun.

This a one-shot full of spooky stories featuring a variety of DC characters.

I picked this up for a Nightwing and Red Hood story, where the art was done by Dexter Soy.

The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #11.

The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing. Issue #11. Regular Cover.

The battle between the 2 Jokers has begun, and all of Gotham is stuck in the crossfire. I’m curious to see how this one ends.

Graphic Novels/Collected Works

Batman: Wayne Family Adventures. Volume 2.

This series is so adorable! This volume contains my favourite storyline, so I am very glad to have this in my library now.

Also, look at Jason’s face on the cover, he’s so cute!

White Elorda’s Weekly Comic Book Haul #34: 18th September 2023

Good morning Nerdy Birdies,

How was your weekend? I hope that you’re coming into this new week feeling rested and relaxed.

I’m visiting family this week, hence the lateness of this post, though I am hoping that posting early will help make up for that a little bit.

As usual, I will be going through the individual issues that I picked up this week, and then going through the graphic novels/collected works.

Let’s jump right into this week’s haul!

Individual Issues

Batman & Robin. Issue #1. Regular Cover.

The Dynamic Duo returns! I’ve been looking forward to this coming out for a little but, and I, looking forward to seeing how the dynamic and relationship between Bruce and Damian develops after the events of Batman vs Robin!

World’s Finest: Teen Titans. Issue #3. Variant Cover by Evan “Doc” Shaner.

The Teen Titans attend a convention with their name on it – literally. How will they cope with fans that might be a little too adoring?

I’ve really been enjoying this more modern take on the Titans, and I couldn’t resist picking up the Speedy cover to match the one I have of Robin.

Batman: Gargoyle of Gotham. Book #1.

This Black Label story shows Batman facing off against a new serial killer terrorizing Gotham.

The art style of very different from what I’m used to from Batman comics, but I don’t hate it. I’m looking forward to seeing where this story goes!

The Plot Holes. Issue #1. Regular Cover.

The first time in a while that I’m reading something outside of the DC universe.

I’m a big fan of Sean Murphy’s work, so a story about book characters who travel to different books to make edits is really fascinating to me. This issue really just introduces the characters and sets up the story but I am excited to read more!

Graphic Novels/Collected Works

Batman: Under the Red Hood – Deluxe Edition.

I’ve been looking forward to this being released since it was announced, and I finally have my hands on it.

This Deluxe Edition contains the entire Under the Red Hood story as well as Lost Days, which tells the story of Jason Todd before his return to Gotham. There is also some fun behind the scenes stuff.

I definitely recommend this if you’re a fan of Red Hood.

White Elorda’s Weekly Comic Book Haul #33 – 3rd September 2023

Good morning Nerdy Birdies!

How was your week? I hope that you are all doing very well today!

My week has been pretty hectic, so I am very excited to have the day off tomorrow for the holiday.

It’s been a couple of weeks since I have shared a comic book haul with you, I’ve just been so busy that I certain things fell to the wayside, and unfortunately this blog is one of them. I am going to do my best to be better in the future.

With that being said, let’s jump right into this week’s haul – shall we?

I don’t have any collected works or graphic novels to share with you this week, so it will just be individual issues!

Individual Issues

Knight Terrors: Night’s End. (One-Shot). Variant Cover by Simone di Meo.

So the Knight Terrors event comes to an end. How will this event change things in the future – I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

The Riddler: Year One. Issue #6. Regular Cover.

The last issue in this prequel run to the Batman movie. I’ve really enjoyed this look into Edward’s mind in the events leading up to the film, as well as seeing his perspective on Batman.

SuperBoy: The Man of Tomotrrow. Issue #5. Regular Cover.

The penultimate issue of this run. Conner has been left for dead by the Cosmoteers. How will he come back from the dire situation he has found himself in?

As a side note – I love the cover of this one, the call back to the Death of Superman.

Nightmare Country: The Glass House. Issue #4. Regular Cover.

G’Nort’s Swimsuit Edition.

This is a fantastic collection of all of the swimsuit covers that have been featured on DC issues in the last year.

I think my favourite is the Nightwing one.

Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War – Battle Lines. Regular Cover.

From one event, straight into the next. The battle between Batman and Catwoman for the good of Gotham, is about to begin – but who will come out the victor, and how will this affect the entire Bat-Family?

I just love this cover so much, I couldn’t resist picking it up.
